Too young to see him play, but the photo of my children on my living room wall still looks fantastic after twenty odds years. True gentlemen, best wishes to Gary and his family in this difficult time.

Too young to see him play, but the photo of my children on my living room wall still looks fantastic after twenty odds years. True gentlemen, best wishes to Gary and his family in this difficult time. Very sad news indeed. I recall taking my son to his first match in Chester We are London fans) against Mansfield in around 1994. I had told him about this great centre forward we had and how he had scored one of the fastest hattricks. I took him to Gary's studio shop front in Chester, near Grosvenor Bridge. I recall a massive photo of Ian Rush on the wall together with many foreign dignatories. Gary was there and we spent some time talking about Chester, his hattrick, and photography (i am one also). We left feeling very lucky to have met him and the enduring memory was what a likeable charming man. Very sad news and our thoughts are with him and his family. A Chester legend.

God bless Gary from a lot of people who are currently on holiday in Israel including your sister in law Shirley.

This Chester legend has the whole support of the Blue and White army.
Also really sad news about Hull defender Angus MacDonald today who’s also been diagnosed with cancer. He’s played a number of times at the Deva for Salisbury and Torquay.

For any other fan who has to endure watching the Bakeoff on C4 tonight it was good to see the contestant wearing a shirt that looked like the one Gary wore in the 60's. Even my wife agreed it did and if younger fans don't know it have a look on Google. Far more refined than the one we have now
