A huge bonus at the moment is we won at one of the trickiest grounds today without 2 keys players where we saw countless times last year it had cost us.

The fans were quality today. Huge away following for this level and we rarely stopped singing. The atmosphere in the concourse at FT was electric. Hope there's more days like that to come, they've been all too rare in recent years.
Hardly heard a peep out of the home end. They struck me as a home support that turned up with little expectation and had said expectations matched!!

That was a big win - another big side likely to do well this season brushed aside by playing great football rather than their hoof ball.
What a great atmosphere we created. I still can’t believe the stats say there was more Telford fans than us - it didn’t look like it.
I just wish we’d stop gifting every team one goal.
Morgan’s red card was a bit harsh given the foul on Elliott just beforehand. Morgan has really stepped up to the plate over the last two games and didn’t deserve that. Glad to hear the gaffer thinking about an appeal - otherwise we are looking a bit thin on right backs.

Excellent first half performance, in which we were a different class to Telford. It really could have been 4 or 5, so superior in every department Thought we sat a little, too deep when Roberts came on and that Morgan, who was having an excellent game, was sent off for a rash challenge, he really didnt need to make. Some of the one touch football and passing was excellent. None more so than a slide rule pass from Taylor to Asente, that completely split their defence, for the second goal. Glendon is one hell of a player. He pulls the strings. Pure class Burton, Taylor, Asente and Jackson were all contenders for MOM. This team, if they play like this will fear no one, in this league, York included.

Looks like an 86 minute penalty stopped Wrexham sliding into the bottom 4. Have to go visit the carnage on Goat passion.

Well, well, well, we’ve done it again. Another flawless display as we (or should I say Akwasi Asante) capitalised on poor AFC Telford United defending to secure a comprehensive win. To Telford’s credit I thought they had a lot of the ball, but defensively we were well-organised to limit their chances. We did sit back a few times in the second half when we reverted to 4-5-1, but we weathered the storm really well. What is impressing me more and more is the fact we are going to places such as Telford, Kidderminster Harriers, and Boston United with no fear at all. Our away form has been so much better, and long may it continue.
Our first half display was excellent as we tore Telford apart. The opening stages were pretty even as both sides had their fair share of the ball, but we delivered when it mattered which is the most important thing. Our first chance of the game went to Akwasi Asante as he linked up really well with Brad Jackson, although his shot went wide. The Jackson-Asante partnership was an absolute joy to watch today as Jacko’s hard work on the right and inch-perfect balls fed Asante. Just a few moments later we made it 1-0 as Asante latched onto a fine Matty Hughes cross to flick his header home. Joel Taylor was inches away from doubling our lead as a rocket from a tight angle whistled just wide. Halfway through the half Akwasi was unfortunate to not have doubled his tally as he scuffed an attempt wide following poor defending. A minute later though, he finally got that goal as he had two bites at the cherry. Asante’s initial chipped effort hit the post, but he reacted sharply to net an easy goal from close range to make it 2-0. For the next 10 minutes Telford crept into the game as they had more of the ball in their quest to forge back into the match. We sat back and should have been more industrious on the ball, as we had a tendency of just rushing it down. That didn’t affect us though as we had a nice spell just before the break. Danny Livesey went so close to getting a third as he stabbed his effort over from a few yards out. There was a bit of pinball in the penalty box after that as we must have had at least 4 chances in a matter of seconds. Desperate Telford defending denied a plethora of shots, before Jamie Morgan blasted over. We went into half time 2 up in what was an outstanding first half display.
The second half was a bit more cagey as Telford were more up for it, but again we stood our ground to secure our win. Especially in the last 15 minutes there were a few nervy moments as Jamie Morgan got dismissed and our opponents hit the post, but thankfully there’s no need to dwell on that now. Andy Wycherley was brought into action as he did really well to gather an Asante effort when his shot was goal-bound. Our dominance continued to show as Brad Jackson and Jamie Morgan were brilliant going forward, with Jackson in particular ripping Telford apart. Jacko was involved in our third as Asante finally got his hat-trick. Against Hereford FC and Guiseley he was substituted off whilst on 2, but our managers were less harsh today as they kept him on this time. A Jackson cross culminated in poor goalkeeping as Wycherley parried the ball out, and all Asante had to do was score another easy tap-in. At the other end Russ Griffiths made a brilliant save to deny a Darryl Knights header. The hosts were having none of it as they pulled a goal back a few minutes later, as an unmarked Lewis Reilly headed in at the back post, whilst Anthony Dudley went close as his shot forced a strong stop out of Telford’s custodian. Just past the 80th minute mark Jamie Morgan got sent-off for us after he dived in late. Perhaps it was quite harsh, but on a more worrying note we are now wafer thin in the right back department. Kevin Roberts is still out injured, Morgan will have to miss the next 3 games, so that leaves us down to Matty Thomson. He was very impressive last season though, so hopefully he will shine once again underneath the limelight. Danny Elliott was unlucky to not have made it 4 as his goal-bound effort resulted in Wycherley beating it away. We survived a bit of a scare towards the end as Brendon Daniels smashed his free kick against the crossbar, which capped off a miserable afternoon for the hosts. That didn’t effect us though as we ended up securing our third consecutive 3-1 win.
Purely for the hat-trick Akwasi Asante goes down as my man of the match today, although there could have been a whole host of others. He is just on a different planet as his goals-to-games ratio is unbelievable, and all 3 of his finishes today were very well-taken. Brad Jackson was immense once again as I lost count on how many times he carved Telford’s left hand side open. He played pivotal roles in all of our goals, and assisted Asante’s third. Jamie Morgan stepped up to the plate so well as he dealt with Telford’s forwards really well with his excellent interceptions. I’m gutted for him about his dismissal, although Jonno is considering an appeal which will hopefully result in positive news. Anthony Dudley hasn’t been mentioned, but I thought he was excellent today as he started off some of our attacks. He doesn’t score shedloads, but he has a great eye for a pass and gets into dangerous positions. George Glendon was brilliant in the middle as he was quick to react to loose balls, and made some exceptional passes. He has proved to be a real find, and no wonder Bern is bald 😂 when selecting our central midfield. Gary Roberts and Gary Stopforth have been outstanding, but Scott Burton and Glendon have been just as good whilst they have been out, which must give the dynamic duo a huge headache. In defence both Simon Grand and Danny Livesey had solid outings as they barely gave Telford a sniff, and were very stubborn. Finally, Matty Hughes had another great game up top as he was a handful for Telford, and assisted Asante’s first with an inch-perfect cross.
We are just getting better and better as today’s result puts us up to the dizzy heights of 2nd. There is still a long way to go, but there is already a healthy cushion between us and 8th place Gateshead (7 points). At the start of the season my expectation was for us to get in the play-offs, so anything more will be a bonus. I am not going to change that expectation as I don’t want to be getting over-ahead of myself, but things are looking very rosy at the moment. Up next is a home match against Altrincham next Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round. They succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at crisis-stricken Kidderminster Harriers today, so hopefully we will add to Alty’s patchy start. After today’s showing I am sure more will feel motivated to attend next week now. I am not expecting us to be getting over 2,000 (as we need to remember that this match won’t be included in the season ticket scheme), but with this being a local game it would be nice to see a healthy crowd around the 1,700 mark. Our atmosphere was electric as per today, and the ‘’EM-BRACE THE SH*T-NESS’’ chant was pretty humorous too.

My memories of Telford, as I am exile fan, was battering them when Mark Wright was manager and we were flying with Stamp and Dale. Great match. It seems that we are in the same mold, except we rely too much on one goal goal scoring wizard.... Hope now that fans can believe in automatic promotion as opposed to seeing reaching the play offs as a realistic objective, for then it becomes a lottery. Funny that we are seemingly battling out with York...similar Roman history and compete for tourists and more relevant on the football front. A lot of mutual respect but we need to do a Mark Wright when we were battling against Hereford....and come top.

Don’t forget there were 4 of us Chester fans in their hospitality suite so add 4 more to the away following which was great. Fantastic first half but I have to say Morgan deserved to be sent off from where we were sitting. I was hoping it would be a yellow but I’m certain any appeal will fail.

They had a lot of the ball 2nd half but struggled to break us down. Wondered if our keeper could have come for the cross that they scored from. Fully deserved win, first half in particular we looked head and shoulders above them. We've got so much quality down the wings and Telford couldn't live with it. As for Asante, what can you say. He was averaging a goal every 43 minutes before today this season. It's probably down to one every 35 after today. Phenominal.

He was averaging a goal every 43 minutes before today this season. It's probably down to one every 35 after today. Phenominal. Since signing Asante has scored 24 goals in 16 starts and 3 sub appearances. He's scored two perfect hat tricks and this season has averaged a goal every 38 minutes. At current rate if he plays every minute of every game till the end of the season he will get 73 more goals, taking his haul to a conservative 84 goals for the 2018/19 season. According to Wikipedia he needs 17 more goals to become the reformed Clubs all time top scorer. If fit and if we can keep hime he'll probably do that by March.

On the attendance, as Telford don't usually give any seating to visiting fans would the over 100 Chester fans in the main stand be counted with the home support. Therefore that would be more like 900 Chester in reality.

What a day what a performance could easily have been 6, i know all the talk is Asante and rightly so, but a word for Brad Jackson what a player we have on our books and the amount of chances he creates class.
Fans superb, thought the red was fair enough Jamie didn't need to make the challenge has Jonno says in the interview stay on your feet, also heard today we have Glendon till at least January ?

I hope Glendon stays. He is pure class.Rarely wastes a pass. I said it all along that as a fan owned club, we cant afford to buy our way up the leagues. We need to build a squad of young, hungry players that, if we can gain automatic promotion, will come up with us. And hopefully do an FC Halifax or Stockport and challenge at the right end of the table. Just think for a minute and compare this tean to the pile of utter dross that got us relegated. I gve you Rowe Turner v Joel Taylor. Lol
