Full time and former Blues Sam Hornby and Alex Whitmore help Fylde to a 1-0 win away at the goats. 2,900 there to see Wrexham slip to just one point from bottom.

You’d guess that they have to win at Ebbsfleet on Saturday . . . tick tock

Both the Wrexham and Chesterfield forums this evening and certainly put things in perspective as to how positive we are over here at the moment.
I would be very worried for both clubs with them being out of form, falling attendances and a divided fan base never bodes well, especially with large stadium overheads and big contracts.

Least they’ll finally be getting out the national league this season like they said

Least they’ll finally be getting out the national league this season like they said RP is a great read. Really funny. Makes my day seeing them where they are given the crap we got off them when we were in a relegation scrap. If they lose on Saturday the place will be in meltdown.

Ha!Ha! Someone said on RP, Wrexham are going down and lets just hope Chester dont go up, that would be unbearable. COYB you can do this!

My mates said that Keats should never of got the job doesn't bother me in the slightest They're continuing to remind me of us two seasons ago. Giving Brian Hughes a three year contract was even dafter than what we did with McCarthy. Like us with Bignot, they've replaced him with a young manager with a decent CV, but no real experience of halting a slide. He did well with them last time but different circumstances now. Still suspect they'll probably survive though. It's such a close league, they won't have to get much better to stay up.

They have Ebbsfleet, Eastleigh and Solihull next three games, Ebbsfleets form is mixed whilst Eastleigh have picked up lately but Solihull are on an amazing run at the moment.
3 points for them on saturday is an absolute must, as i cant see them getting any more than a point from the other two. There is also a gap opening up now between them and "relative safety" with Fyldes win last night putting them three places away from the drop, but 7 points clear of the Goats.
If this was the end of September i wouldn't worry too much if i were a goat, but they are nearly halfway through the season and if anything they have gotten worse as a result of the new manager. Long may it last

As bury have gone bust, only 1 drop out the league into the national league. But 2 will still go up. So only 3 go down out of the national league into the north/south. If Macc go bust as well it’ll only be 2.
You just KNOW they’ll get lucky and avoid relegation that way.

I know we’re eclsndjng But still best thing to do would be 3 go up to FL

There will presumably be reprieves all the way down to that level, including ours if they end up in the Evo Stik or lower.

It gets complicated I'm sure I read somewhere recently that conference north was being expanded to 24 clubs next season, so looks like a probable reprive for someone in our league.

When we got relegated we got the double whammy of regional football, and 2 less games. 8% less gate receipts straightaway. Those games probably bring in £35k-£40k.

In addition it solves the issue at step 3 as the increase in league numbers at our level is being implemented alongside an increase in relegation places from next season to cover the bottom 4 of National League North and South. This enables a 2 up , 2 down from steps 2 to 3 rather than requiring a super playoff which Warrington lost out in last year.

I think 46 games plus cups is a big demand on part-time players though, and on supporters' finances.
I think I remember Neil Young saying he thought all leagues should be capped at 20 teams. I was actually in favour of the 100-team league FL proposal with five leagues of twenty teams - at least in principle.

Still got a feeling they'll survive. Making it hard for themselves though, 25/30 points needed to give yourself half a chance by Christmas.
