Eastleigh on a tuesday, who's idea was that!? The table makes brilliant reading, it's a close league though, they're only 12 points off midtable. Enjoying this while it lasts.

Ho Hum. Not the boards fault and anyway the deck is rigged against Welsh clubs so please don't protest on Saturday is my take on this. Doubt this will go down well with many Wrexham fans. The Wrexham Supporters Trust, Football Club Board, Manager and Players of Wrexham AFC want to apologise to you regarding the position we currently occupy in the National League. Despite upping the playing budget going into the season by over 20% versus the prior season, it hasn’t worked and the club currently sits in its lowest ever league position. As lifelong fans of the club ourselves who follow the team up and down the country, we fully understand the frustration, embarrassment and upset this is causing everyone and that we need to urgently address the situation. The Board and Dean Keates met today and talked through the steps necessary to turn this situation around and discussed the investment needed in further additions to the squad we will need to make in January. We have to wait until January, because as a Welsh Club playing in the English National League we are bound by the international transfer window (this does not apply to the England based National League clubs), and these rules mean we cannot make any permanent signings until the transfer window is open in January. As a matter of urgency, we plan to bring in loan additions who can help us in the short term. We fully understand the anger from fans and respect the right to make feelings known. Given the current circumstances, your club and team need you more than ever on a matchday to give us the best chance of pulling clear of this situation and that’s something everyone connected to Wrexham Football Club wants and something we all can rally around. Ultimately, we understand that we are accountable for everything that happens at the football club, the good along with the bad but would urge everyone to pull together in the same direction until this situation is addressed. Your fantastic support is always appreciated. Blimey. Keates done a McCarthy on em. The line between survival and the risk of oblivion is one bad manager away for a fan owned club

Yeah, probably just as well we've made the most of this as they're not going to stay bottom for long!

Yeah, probably just as well we've made the most of this as they're not going to stay bottom for long! Literally having the same season we had, this is just their miracle of Aldershot 😄 Spoke to a Wrexham fan who said there’s some protest in their next home match. It could turn nasty if they lose but they’ve been chanting sack the board all season.

As I’ve said before let’s enjoy it whilst it lasts . That said you can understand the anger and frustration at their board. Given their gates alone surely they can assemble a side capable of being competitive at conference level. Contradicting myself a bit but I get the feeling you probably need to Be paying approx £1000 a week to be challenging to get up into league two

Shots currently 2-0 up Big loss for the goats at home to relegation rivals Finished 2-1. Good to see them struggling but their level of support demands respect. In spite of their league position, over 4000 there today - we can’t even manage half that figure with a team in the playoffs. Imagine what we could do with an additional 2000 supporters every game.

Not many...which is why this thread is 13 pages. It's called banter. So why was there no banter when Wrexham won a couple of games? A couple of games against the bottom team in the league? I don't think they will go down because there are at least 2 crapper teams than them. Only 3 go down and I doubt Macclesfield will be around for much longer TBH. Just like when we got reprieved when Salisbury and Hereford went pop.

Whichever way you look at it, it would be a real shame if both us and Wrexham ended up in the conf north. When you think back to derby games with 20k at the Racecourse and 13-14k at Sealand Road it says a lot about the way local football has gone and I don't know if there is any way back for the "smaller teams" with young kids constantly having the premier League rammed down their throats from all media. Saddens me greatly, one of the reasons I won't pay for Sky or BT.

It's funny to see them struggle but I actually don't want them relegated either, it's Just going to make this division tougher to get out of if we don't go up this year. Add Chesterfield and Chorley on top of the 5 or 6 teams already making this division much harder than it was when we walked it 8 year ago.

I agree - I would much rather they survived (just) for us to get promoted and take 6 points off them next season. Also hope Chorley go down - must be the worst away game/place I've ever been too - when the home fans are held back to let the away fans get out you know you have just played at a place that's the pits.

Based around the match day routines, sights, sounds, smells, tastes etc. The kids that come with junior clubs, schools etc all seem to love it. We are also 3pm, Saturday every other week more or less. Not Saturday lunchtime, Thursday night or Sunday. That we are not on the TV, have mad offers for childrens tickets and are not playing at ridiculous times that are subject to change at a TV companies whim should make us very attractive to young families. It is our USP.

It's still very close, I still think they'll be ok, I thought Fylde would have pulled away by now they're deep in it, either way Wrexham, Fylde or Chesterfield this league is just going to get tougher.

21st place will almost certainly stay up this season due to Bury's demise, and Macc might well follow them. It would take a monumental screw-up for them to get relegated.

They had a fan meeting a week back, I saw something posted on twitter. A few questions flying around, one asking why they don't go for any external investment like Chester.
One thing that stood out was the commercial side for the Club made 800k for the year, I don't know the ins and outs of it all but 800k income on top of an average crowd last season of 5,000 how on earth have they not managed to get out of that league and 2 million from the GK to Leicester.

They were unfortunate to lose two fairly successful managers to clubs in the Football League. The thing is if that happens, you have to make a sensible appointment and one that ensures continuity, not some footgolf coach whose only credentials are scoring an FA Cup goal for them many moons ago. Pretty sure Burton lost Nigel Clough midway through their Conference winning season.
