Got to love some of posts on here "Jury is still out", don't be ridiculous.
They built the team in short space of time last season and put together an alright squad, they exceeded my expectations last season. From what could of been a different story. I.e Neil Redfern in a nut shell(lucky escape there).
These 2 have untied the fan base and got some kind of atmosphere rolling that we haven't had for sometime.
I think these 2 are the best thing that has happened to this club for sometime. I think they will go on to better things in the future, they take onboard what the fans are saying and talk crap like some of our other previous managers.
As for Mr Murphy as far as know he funded Asante, that is it and a bonus scheme.
I go to watch a my club players fighting for the ball and giving it their all, that i have seen already this season and as for the managers you can clearly see the love the game and wanting to succeed. My version

missed that , thanks for update, by the way who is derek adams? He managed Plymouth for 4 years and did a really good job, took them up from League 2 and kept them in League One. Managed Ross County for 6 years over two spells before that. Kevin Ellison was caretaker manager for their last game, a 1-0 victory over Leyton Orient.

My version You must have low expectations if finishing ninth after being second before Xmas is acceptable. Last season was poor. Better this season but appear to rely too much on one injury prone player. Jury definitely out. PS, assume you mean united the fan base, not untiedđ

Don't think Dudley's a wage thief more like playing out of position if there is a wage thief then its mahon who should of gone 3 years ago Dudley will come good I was the one who raised the term wage thief, and clearly referenced it purely in respect of his poor attitude and lack of effort post Christmas LAST SEASON. So far, this season, he has been putting in a good shift when selected. Had no poor attitude just think he was and is playing out of position to much Mahon had offers of Conference National clubs but decided to stay has mine & my family's respect whether he is in the team or not but i think this will be his last Season at the Club

This season probably will be his last but I'd wager a fair few clubs in this division would love him in their squad.

My version I think you can add Glendon and Matty Hughes wages to that of half of Asante's wages. I reckon that is about ÂŁ1,300 per week.

Said it pre-season, Mahon should have been thanked for his efforts and invited to find a fresh challenge. Been past his best for two seasons. No pace, no delivery, no shot. I'm sure he's a lovely bloke, though, so let's keep paying his wages.

Last season Mahon was Was our top assist provider and was involved in more goals than any member of the squad. This year he seems to have been moved out of the squad but it's not his fault he was given a contract. "No pace, no delivery, no shot" is exactly the sort of hyperbole and unnecessary vitriol that people have been talking about. He's not even in the squad these days but people feel the need to exaggerate about how bad a player who loves the club is.

It's a long season, and we're only just into November. Plenty of time left for players to make their mark on the squad. Look at the likes of the young lad we got from Nantwich as well. Going to be plenty of opportunities for these lads to make their mark.
Mahony knows he's got stiff competition in the wide positions with Brad Jackson playing ever so well this season, going to be hard for him to stake a claim back in the starting line up, but purely down to him to take his chance as and when he gets it as with the rest of the squad.
Mahony has been such a fantastic servant to the club over the last few years, I hope people remember what an important player he has been for us over the last few years when it eventually comes to us parting ways.

Certainly not his fault he is still with us, but it begs the question as to who gave him what now appears to be a financially poor contract for this season. I suspect that none of us on this board can comment on how you build a squad whilst balancing a budget. Mahon does work with the youth team that may be factored in and with a long way to go this season I imagine he may well have more to contribute , ultimately I just think that some of the comments written about him "No pace, no delivery, no shot" "if there is a wage thief then its mahon who should of gone 3 years ago" seem unnecessarily harsh. We're in the National League North and these guys aren't full time, they may well read this forum and I think the least we can do as decent supports is not castigate players who in your own words "have been a great player for the club" and have stated how much they love the club and its fans. If you don't think he should be here fine. Jono and Bern do. Up the Seals.

Best managers around at this level IMO, I think the've done a great job in the time that the've been here and we should pull out all the stops to keep them. As for Mahon I agree with some of the other posters he's been a good servant for us and I still think he has plenty to offer over the course of a season.

Never been a big fan of Mahon, I'm the first to admit. The managers seem to share my view. I'm not castigating his service to the club, or character as a human being, merely giving my opinion on his ability as a footballer. I don't hate the guy, that's ridiculous. What do you want, a forrum where we all worship every move by Bern and Jonno, and love all the players. Bit dull, eh?

We need to get these tied down asap, I know the board jumped the gun with mad macca but these guys fit the club perfectly. Sorry but I have to disagree. The reason is purely financial as at the moment the current squad is subsidized by Stuart Murphy on a somewhat ad hoc basis. Until this relationship between the club and Mr Murphy is sorted out it would simply be repeating previous mistakes with JM and NY in regard to managerial contracts. Weâve seen what can happen by offering big contracts, not only at our club but also a certain Welsh club. Regarding Bern and Jonno, yes theyâre doing an ok job at the moment but honestly there have been a couple of thrashings, No FA Cup or Trophy runs and no play-offs. Let them get on with it and start discussions in February.

There too many people on here who if they dislike your opinion see how unpleasant a post they can make to attack you. Mahon should have been released after the season when he missed a large portion of it through injury. He's been little more than a squad player at best since.

Totally agree that there needs to be debate and difference of opinion , I actually think what causes the issue and debate is the aggressive tone some posters use to make their points or when the thread becomes a squabble between two posters. As for Mahon , on his day he was a player that should have graced the Football League but sadly struggled to find consistency and the chasing pack after his shirt , Jackson et al, have overtaken him in the pecking order.

You said Jackson âet alâ but who are the et al? Waters and an out of position Dudley shoe-horned there. Thatâs it. Mahon should at least be on the bench IMO.

Well personally I think given that Taylor pushes on from left back a lot more than Roberts does from the right you wouldnât want another winger on the left in the same mould as Jackson. Having someone like Dudley who comes in and works the lines and space between midfield and attack creates the space for Taylor to advance into as it pulls the full back out of position.

Mahon had a good spell around this time last year, but since then has pretty much gone back to how he's been for most of the last five years. I'd say Waters has done more with his opportunities over the last 12 months.

I have dyslexia, sometimes whole words are missing or things dont always show as my brain thinks. Last season was ok considering the mess the club was in. We dont have an open cheque book. We are not premiership, we are getting by. Good to have high expectations, but realistic also. If you find anything else in this you would like to point out, then fire away.

Anyone know if Green is still at Boston Utd. He wasn't even on the 7-man bench yesterday for their impressive FA Cup 1st round win.
