Truly frightening. The Deva will be a water polo venue in 30 years' time if predictions are correct!
It amazes me that people don't see the environment as the single biggest issue facing the planet right now.

Most on the left understand the threat this poses. Unfortunately they are not widely in positions of power to do anything but campaign and press the issue with those who are in positions of power.

Not confined to the UK, the Portuguese government produced a similar document a couple of weeks back showing the same fate for quite a lot of the Algarve.

Looking at the red areas they seem to cover what was the original path/tidal flood plain of the Dee before it was canalised in the 1700's. I've been reading quite a bit of local history recently and I was quite surprised to learn that when the river around Shotton used to flood it would reach level with where the main road sits now. Just goes to show how much land was claimed when the canalisation took place and how easily it could all be taken away.

It's bound to be. It has more people than any other country.
Per capita, I think their carbon emissions are only about a third of America's, and less than ours. Plus they do a lot of manufacturing for us as well - we can't take advantage of their cheap labour and then have a go at them over pollution!
Not a good advert for left wing idealism is it using cheap labour to keep costs down so they can export to the rest of the world and keeping emissions high by not using costly solutions to get them down We can point score over left and right all we want, and end up losing our homes to climate change as we do so. As I said, nearly a year ago now, climate change is the single biggest issue the planet is facing, and yet so few people consider it when voting. I can see for myself which parties and politicians care about it the least.

and who is the biggest polluting nation in the world oh yes the left wing communist China It's bound to be. It has more people than any other country.

Per capita is the chart that matters, as stated above. Its already too late to save the the Polar Bear, the icecap will melt & nothing we do can stop that, not to mention the many inland glaciers around the world that are retreating at an alarming rate. The best we can do as individuals is live a minimalistic life from here on in & try & curtail the speed. We need to stop buying useless stuff from Ikea that looks pretty sitting on our shelves. After alot of hard work I eventually turned my wife around to this way of thinking. Our house has never felt so decluttered & our bank balance as never been so healthy. Not a scented candle or composite table in the place.

A big problem is that "they", the people we sort of rely on, have lied continually.
"They", professors at East Anglia university, lied about climate change data. "They" lied when they said that the Himalayas would be free of ice. "They" lied about WMD in Iraq. "They" maintained that Amanda Holden married Les Dennis for love!
You'd have to be a fool to believe anything that "they" say any more.

They don’t have to tell what is in front of your eyes. Look at comparison pictures of melting glaciers over the last century will tell you all you need to know. www.livescience.com/11283-glaciers.html

This is happening already in other parts of the country, look at Fairbourne for example. It's covered by red on the map linked at the start of the thread but it could well be underwater long before 2050. The government have already started planning for its abandonment.
