Looks like the Cummings and the Tories have had some kind of blame-storming session at Downing Street. They are desperate to deflect responsibility for a catastrophe that they are the authors of. Expect to see a lot more of this in the coming weeks.

I think next time the government started gushing about how low unemployment figures are, it's worth remembering that somebody on £3.50 an hour in a sweatshop is "employed".
Not unlikely that these premises are the root of Leicester's high number of cases as well.

Thats highly unlikely as I bet some will be on benefits and not declaring they are working and a lot will no doubt be "illegals"

Workers on £3.50 an hour are not the ones you should be directing your scorn at. That is not directed at the people working for £3:50 its an answer to your assumption that these workers are counted as "employed". As I said earlier the fact that these sweatshops are allowed in this country is abhorrent. The owners of these sweatshops know which people to target and employ as they know they will not spill the beans and they get what is in effect slave labour, Local Authorities and Government need to flush out these people and deal with them accordingly

Think Wortleyblue subscribed to the myth that “foreigners” are coming over to “take our jobs” for illegal poverty wages, and refusing to believe the problem is caused by the millionaire/billionaire owners trying to squeeze every last penny of profit out of anything.

I don't think he subscribes to that club. But I believe he sees both sides. The mayor of liecester said. A lot of these workers are family members that have come on a visit but forgot to go home. This puts them in a work for buttons position as in his words not mine they have little or no English. I would like to think people would not exploit family members but unfortunately in this case it appears they do.

Thats a load of rubbish I have no objection to "foreigners coming over here to take jobs" (I have omitted our as they are jobs and not "our jobs"). As for "and refusing to believe the problem is caused by the millionaire/billionaire owners trying to squeeze every last penny of profit out of anything" if it is proved that they are using sweatshops then they should be dealt with under whatever law is available to impose the most severe punishment.

The main point I was making is that I hate the way employment statistics are fudged to make them look good, when in reality real-term wages are dropping and poverty is rising.

I see our wonderful government have resumed selling arms to Saudi Arabia. More hospitals to be flattened with the patients still inside with British weapons. Shameful.

The non-dairy milk company Oatly.
Recently sold a stake in the company Blackstone, who fund Trump's election campaign and rainforest destruction. Money talks I suppose, but don't continue to make yourself out to be this quirky, vegan-friendly, eco-conscious brand fighting the good battle. Deservedly being ripped to pieces on Twitter and Facebook.

Premier Sports. Offering a free 1 month trial for La Liga just before Premier League resumed, so I signed up for a free football fix. Then when it came to cancelling before I was billed for the first paid month the website conveniently doesn't have this function (it does if you want to subscribe!) and directs you to a phone line which despite whatever time you ring tells you they are too busy to take your call. Plenty of people on Twitter directed the questions to their Twitter account where the response was to DM them. Trouble is it then takes a while for them to DM you back, if at all. I found an email address and they replied within 3 days apologising and said they'd cancel my account but as I hadn't given the 5 days notice prior to renewal I was liable to pay the cost, despite the fact I'd be attempting to cancel for longer than that but I simply couldn't find a way of getting a response from them. It's only £5.99 but its the principle of it. In the meantime, their Twitter account finally DM'd me back saying they'd refund me, so I'm waiting to see which of their support arms is correct, the email one or the Twitter one! What company would have their main route of complaint as having to DM them?! Won't ever be fooled by them again, bastards. I’ve only just noticed that £5.99 has been exiting my account once a month since last July from these despite having written confirmation that my subscription was cancelled in July following the end of the free month offer. It’s not like I can even access what I’m paying for - I can’t! Will be getting on to them.

Who could ever forget the “Jab and Go” adverts during a time when over a thousand deaths were being recorded each day. Crass, insensitive to say the least. Will never fly with them again.

Deliveroo is a company that seems to be plagued with bad publicity. A drivers' strike today, a disaster in the stock market I believe (not that I understand that) and how many adverts have they had banned for being misleading?
Oh, and they decided to prank thousands of French customers into thinking they'd spent 500 euros on pizzas. April Fool or not, what a stupid thing to do at a time of raising cybercrime and financial hardship.
