Sadly Sam does not seem be getting much game time at Salford Games played by Salford since his arrival in September- 14 Games started by Sam- 3 Games played as substitute- 3 Unused substitute- 3 I think we all hoped that he would be on his way to a game in the premiere league by now or is he still suffering from injuries

I have got a feeling he might be injured as he was getting game time and if he didn’t play he was on the bench but he has just disappeared from the squad.

"Way too good for this level" "One of our best young players" two of the comments on Leicester's forum tonight for Sam. Really hope he gets a chance before his contract is up in the summer.

"Way too good for this level" "One of our best young players" two of the comments on Leicester's forum tonight for Sam. Really hope he gets a chance before his contract is up in the summer. He won’t. Leicester are trying to sign a CB before February and Benkovic is deemed the next young CB off the production line. Unless something changes, Hughes will either be released or given an extension purely so Leicester can make some money from him through a sale. Massive blow for us really how it’s gone for him there. Injuries have ultimately been the killer for him along with perhaps Leicester’s rise in such a short space of time. In the position Leicester are in, they don’t need to give someone like him a chance. He would have been best off joining a Championship club where he’d have had a chance of playing and then working his way up from there like Jon Walters did.

I wouldn’t suggest injuries have impacted too much on what’s happened, more the fact that he joined a PL club where international cap centre backs are fourth and fifth in the pecking order, it is what it is. Perhaps had he moved to a Championship outfit it would’ve worked out.

Disagree. Sam was flying before his injury, captain of the Under 23s and leading scorer and would have been knocking on the door of the first team but for the long term injury. Unfortunately he has not been the same player since the injury but let’s hope he can recapture his early form over the next three months.

I can see him going to a League 1 or 2 side before Friday on loan. Apparently Portsmouth were interested recently and Michael Appleton, who was a coach at Leicester, is now Lincoln Manager, so two possibilities. If he does well and gets a permanent deal it could work out well for him. Knowing our luck he’ll move on a free to someone, get back to full form then get picked up by a big team for a decent fee.

Sam joined Leicester in June 2017.
On the old League Portal forum, there was a fan who used to insist that one season didn't finish and the next begin until the fixtures came out. By that definition, he was joining the Premier League champions and Champions League quarter finalists.

Captained Leicester U23s to a 3-1 win at Southampton U23s tonight. Played a full 90 mins so would assume he is back to full fitness.

Be nice if Sam was to earn the club the £250,000 needed to kickstart the KGV centre, as he is a product of the clubs academy.

That's right, forget about building a training centre and footballing structure, let's let Eric and Ernie piss any money we make up the wall on another couple of surplus left wingers.

Here's an idea... Let's have an online arguement about how we should spend money we don't even have and are not likely to get any time soon.
Some of you should be in parliament

You can get sponsorship, Grant funding and charity donations for a sports hub. We should explore all those avenues before putting any money in. Bear in mind it is supposed to be for the whole community, not just the football club. Any money should go to the club, and i don't mean the SM vision. Put some into the Youth set up. Put some into the cash reserves. Put some into the first team. Yes. The team that brings the crowd in every week. Don't think most people would be happy if it went into surveyor plans for a 3 story restaurant.

Only on these forum could you have a full blown argument about how the club should spend money that they haven’t got and are not likely to ever have. It’s amazing what people on here can find to fall out over 😂😂😂

Don't think most people would be happy if it went into surveyor plans for a 3 story restaurant. I'm assuming that we have done that already? I think that any windfalls we have should go towards getting bricks and mortar in the city that belong to the club. Physical assets. And whilst I agree there is a massive community usage planned for the KGV, the daytime sessions for the academy and first teamers would benefit the club endlessly. The money freed up from paying for pitches all over the area would then go back into what the club does on the first team pitch, let alone the attraction to players (of all ages 10-40) that excellent facilities bring. And yes, I am aware that it is a discussion based on whatifs and maybes, but I think that there should be a structured long term footballing and non-footballing plan for the club, and a training/academy facility/classrooms/first team briefing room is vital to that. We have a rainy day fund to cover emergencies, but if we really want to grow into the FL club we all crave then we really need to start planting some acorns.

Deva Chat Gold this thread. Keep going chaps, sterling work. I think we should spunk the imaginary 250k on topless brasses in the blues bar for the next 20 years.
