What's has it come to when the likes of Nadiya Hussain who is a brilliant chef and character imo has been awarded an MBE.But bloody hell Ainsley Harriott has also been made an MBE who the hell makes these decisions?

The whole thing is a bloody joke, and for Iain Duncan Smith to get a knighthood is an absolute insult.
I would like to see a widespread movement to turn down honours. Who are the Royals to tell me or anyone else that I deserve some sort of merit badge anyway?

The most honourable are those who turn it down. You only have to compare the list of “sirs” with those who said no to an antiquated class distinction racket.
Sir Jimmy Saville vs L.S. Lowry
Sir Robert Mugabe vs Stephen Hawking
Sir Cliff Richard vs John Lennon
Sir Rolf Harris vs Benjamin Zephaniah
Sir Nicolae Ceaucescu vs Ken Loach
Sir Benito Mussolini vs David Bowie

For balance, Nigel Farage and Enoch Powell are among those to have turned down honours.

They’re still utter scumbags, mind. Pretty sure Farage is set to become a Sir for stepping aside in swathes of seats to allow a Tory majority.

Maybe the Queen thinks Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris and Stuart Hall are less of a **** than he is.

It's about time this was scrapped. Fancy getting an award for baking a cake singing a song or playing football the major recipients are millionaires or people who get very well paid for what they do. I stopped calling anybody sir when I left school and that was forced on us. I once managed luxury apartment building in Altrincham one of the buyers was a sir Gilbert Thomson he told us we were to call him sir Gilbert. Needless to say that didn't work out well with a load of builders.
