We don’t seem to be able to play well in back to back games so inconsistent.

Danny Elliott scores a debut hat-trick to put Alfreton 5-1 up. Shame he never got given a run through the middle for us generally but he didn’t seem to quite have that confidence for us, good to see him doing well tonight though. Our midfield sound diabolical tonight, maybe needed to give one of them a rest and bring GG in from the start today. All genius in hindsight though.

With Waring injured I do find it unusual that we let Elliot go out on loan. He's done well when i've seen him.

We struggled away this season, been our downfall! But God we hate playing in the north east!!! Embrace the shitness, we have the 2nd best away record in the league. It’s consistency that will stop us getting promoted.

Didn't sound like we approached the second half well. We've improved away from home from last season but we can still be a bit flimsy on these long treks.

Disappointing tonight but it's why I've said a few times lately that 3rd place has become the most realistic target for us - we don't look like producing the kind of consistency needed to catch the top two. It's fairly obvious.

This team is utterly USELESS! away from home, not really to sure why when you look at our team, the lack of goals we score away from home is a disgrace for a team in the play offs, when was the last time we scored more than 3 goals in an away match? wonder where we would be without Asante's goals too, someone please check as I am interested thanks.

With Altrincham's run and our inconsistent form we have to be realistic - we will finish sixth or seventh. Fifth if we improve. We don't have the midfield to dominate games week in week out or the strength in depth. We are a bit better than last season and will probably have a play-off game or two but we're not good enough to go up.

What’s the point in looking where we’d be without Asantes goals? I doubt Kings Lynn think about where they’d be without Marriotts goals. We have the third best away record in the league I believe. It’s the inability to perform consistently that’s our issue. We could play York tomorrow and win 3-0 then play Curzon and get beat 3-0. You don’t know which midfield will show up.

Bern and Jonno out brigade coming in force no doubt How Gary Roberts still plays for us however is a different matter Burton 10x the player he has ever been for Chester fact.

And the fact we hardly score away from home or create anything against really poor sides & rely far to much on Akwasi to bang the goals in.

Sounded like we got what we deserved tonight. Gateshead have a very decent home record and had some good results, so it was always going to be a tough task to come away with anything. However, similar to the Royston game, it sounded like we put in a very poor performance second half. Listening to the commentary it was only a matter of time before we conceded, so you have to question why we didn’t make changes earlier?
Saturday will probably be a much tougher game, so it doesn’t bode well!

Try having a look yourself you lazy git As someone has already pointed out we have the 3rd best away record in the league so completely shoots down your argument that we're crap away from home.

Only reason Gary plays for us is because he’s from blacon if he wasn’t he’d been released just like the rest the team that season Only plays well when his mates turn up funnily enough
