Last 8 seasons 7th placed finishes have been with 65, 63, 73, 63, 69, 67, 66 and 65 points.
70 points should do it, That's 16 points from 11 matches. 4 wins 4 draws and 3 defeats.
If we can turn up with our A game we should do it do it easily. The aim must be a minimum of 5th to get one home game at least.
Some difficult games but to be seen to be making progress from last season we must at least make the play-offs.
I can see us beating Kettering (h), Bradford (a), Hereford (a) and Gloucester (a), but some very difficult home games . Any thoughts!

Think we need to do a bit more than finish in the top 7 if we're serious about going up. Since they introduced this format of playoffs I think almost all of them have been won by teams finishing 2nd or 3rd. To do that we probably need league-winning form for the rest of the season. I remain positive, but we do need to find some sort of stride if it's going to happen.

To answer the question more than what we will have Tell you what if you're so confident that the team we all support and want to do well will fail to reach the play offs I'll have a wager with you where the loser can donate to the @chesterfcgoals account. You Pick the amount and I'll match it. I bet we do make the play offs. Good way to raise funds for the club.

I think the games I have seen this season have shown us to be a much improved team with a good depth to the squad, and I will be really disappointed if we don't make the playoffs
Getting a home fixture in play offs should improve our chances of promotion, but part of me wouldn't be too disappointed if we had to travel as the atmosphere of a big play off following all in the same part of the ground would be something to savour

I believe that we will comfortably make the play offs. I shall be very disappointed if we don’t. As I’ve said in other threads for sometime now ideally we want to finish 3 rd but if we can’t we could do with a home game to start with. And yes an away fat in the playoffs with prize being promotion would be super.

Top 3 would be brilliant, at the start of the season I think everyone thought York would finish top, throw Kings Lynn's incredible season in to the mix and 3rd would be a fantastic achievement. I'd be happy enough with 4th of 5th but we've gotta aim as high as possible.

Apology accepted I agree pretty much with what you have said Kings Lynn a surprise. York who were per season favourites beat us relatively comfortably twice although we did have chances at home to get a point. Yes third would be wonderful if we finish fourth or fifth then so Be it. If we do finish lower down clearly that’s more play off games to potentially play, My worry is with our inconsistency can we string together three or so back to Back good performances which of course is what the play offs shall require. After the Kings Lynn game and the disappointing display against Brackley we are due a performance Saturday and we need one big game this weekend .

I genuinely think we’ll finish 7th and just make the playoffs. The teams coming into it like Boston (until the other night) and Gateshead (who beat Boston the other night) are in good form and there is always one side who spend near enough the whole season up there only to fall away and out of contention - happens in every league. I think it’s York’s title, Kings Lynn will bottle it and Alty will join York in the NLP next season. We are not yet consistent enough or winning enough games in a run of form to go up.

I think you are right particularly about Gateshead. They really did a job on us up there. Their GK could have sat in the stand and watched the game from there. Their back 5 was a wall which we just could not penetrate. Amazing that it took them over an hour to score. I fear Saturday is going to be difficult.

We are playing Spennymoor last game...what could possibly go wrong? My pessimism tells me we will finish eighth and Deva Chat will go into meltdown. Just hope we can sneak in and keep the season alive.

After King’s Lynn we had people telling us the title was still on... lose one and suddenly we’re in a battle to stay in the playoffs... 😂😂😂

Our problem is we are so inconsistent. I really hope we can pick up enough points to at least make 7th.

After King’s Lynn we had people telling us the title was still on... lose one and suddenly we’re in a battle to stay in the playoffs... 😂😂😂 Exactly We dont play many mid table teams left, they are either around us or near the bottom. If we can do the hard bit, which we have shown we can, and beat the teams around us, then i honestly, and i said it earlier, can see us finishing second behind York. The teams around us also have to play each other a fair bit too.

There's a lot of decent form in the top 8 at the minute, but we've been in and around it all season and would expect us to do enough.
Home form will be the key - we need to be taking 6 points from our next two home games v Gateshead and Boston. Both tough asks, but so was Darlington when they came here on the back of 5 straight wins and we did them 3-0 without getting out of 3rd gear. We're a good side when we're at it.

You honestly believe this? I'm not being a dick, just surprised Another negative post towards Chester I think thats a bit harsh on Iandy, he may think we will finish top To answer your question, i think our home ties on paper will be the toughest, but our home record is pretty decent. Its our away record that's been more inconsistent, but again on paper our games away are slightly easier. My opinion is not based on any scientific facts, just a hunch. Happy to be proved right of course.

You honestly believe this? I'm not being a dick, just surprised Another negative post towards Chester We're 6 points down on KL who have 3 games in hand. I'm sorry i don't see whats negative about a point of view that is we won't finish 2nd. If i were to say i dont see Man City winning the league, that would be negative against City? Problem with the youth of today, they simply cannot comprehend any view of the world that is not their own. It is possible to be a Chester fan but view the current team as probably the 3rd/4th best in the division we are in. I've spent enough years hoping to be the 21st/22nd best after all.

First Class Deva Chatting this, I have decided you are young regardless of whether or you are or not and also using all my old wisdom have decided anyone younger than me is incapable of the most basic rationalising. I'll say this as a 40 year old, being older doesn't mean you are always correct and deciding huge groups of people all share a similar deficiency that makes them worse than you is ridiculous. I agree that other point your making is true but this line makes you come across as a proper bitter odd ball.
