He has. It’s such a shame he got that very unfortunate injury at York City as he was really solid for us. My personal favourite ‘keeper is John Danby.

The one who has probably gone on to do the best is Aaron Chapman, with plenty of FL appearances since. Looked a bit shaky for us after a good start.
Always liked Danby myself and never understood why others didn't. I think the problems we have had in goal since suggest he was a pretty decent keeper for this level.
Glennon was solid but I think he's a bit overly reverred by some. Only played about 10 games for us, and has looked a bit iffy when he's come up against us since.

John Danby. Two league titles, the heroics during the Stockport match and his loyalty during some really bad times should make him a contender for Hall of Fame entry.

Glennon for me. Experienced, a presence in his penalty area and huge. Everything we have craved for the last 2 seasons.
Chapman had all the ingredients but being young was still going through his making errors phase with us. Gone on to be an excellent GK.

With the success that Chapman and Roberts have had in the Football League since their loan spells as emerging young keepers with us, and with Andy Firth now on the books of one of the biggest clubs in the country, I’d have no problem with us taking an up-and-coming young keeper on from higher division on a season-long loan deal going forward and then supplementing as and when we need cover for any reason (emergency loan if injured etc).
Under Young we had a reputation of finding the odd gem who made a big career move (Sarcevic, Williams), under Burr to an extent we had a reputation of giving a proper foundation of experience for young loanees (Roberts, Oates, McBurnie). We should continue that trend now.
A young loanee keeper on a season-long loan every year.

Some others that haven't been mentioned yet: Sam Hornby - didn't do badly in a woeful team. Now first choice for Fylde in the league above us. Jon Worsnop - good first season, poor after that. Tony Thompson - decent keeper. Burr got rid of the wrong one out of him and Worsnop.
Freddie Hall - brief spell, looked pretty accomplished. Seem to remember he was playing for us for nothing as we couldn't afford to take him on.

Andy Firth, short spell but connected with the crowd and hasn’t done too bad since. Sure he signed a new deal at Rangers recently.

Remember chatting with him training at the Uni, he was taking his Goalkeeping Coach badge and had Will Jaaskelainen (Now Crewe No 1) under his wing.

Just seeing his name sends a shiver down my spine. Woeful 'goalkeeper'.

Glennon, far and above the others who have played for us. Chapman and Roberts have gone on to better things.

Danby should be inducted in hall of fame imo. Him and Horan we are huge part of our success.
