It really doesn't matter one bit does it? This is non league football, their contracts expired and they are leaving and I'm sure we all wish them the best and thank them for their efforts. Nothing to see here! I sometimes think some of our fans are too used to rolling news on Sky Sports, where when a player leaves or wants out of a club, you find out that his kids don't like the local school, or his wife wants to live nearer the beach, or he's been offered a sponsorship deal by a Madrid-based cosmetics firm or whatever.
These are not celebrities. They're young lads trying to make a bit of money from something they can only do for 15-20 years of their lives, and they have other commitments as well. They don't need us poking around in the particulars of their contracts.
To quote Anders from another thread; “Couple of blows for York as Alex Kempster and David Ferguson both reject new contracts. The former has decided to join South Shields instead, strangely.” I note you made no comment or criticism on this. You just seem selective when it comes to criticism.

Yet another thread derailed by the deranged RCB, hes so out of touch if he was a business he'd be called Blockbuster
If the mods won't deal with him in the same way they dealt with whopper, then I suggest we all use the block feature. He doesnt have anyone supporting his views so wouldn't be missed either way.

I don’t think we can have a player who’s just a target man he has got to get his fair share of goals as well, is Waring capable of scoring 15 goals a season he hasn’t shown it up to now,. Maybe not. But he probably got into position for more than 15, only to miss most of them. His problem was that he got too isolated. Making it tough for him. That's one of the problems playing two wingers. Unless they make inside runs, the lone striker can be isolated.

In defence if RCB it was a perfectly valid question. I'm also interested to know if we are losing players because they are rejecting the terms offered/ are getting a better offer elsewhere or they are being released. On Twitter Jonno has said that clubs in the league below are offering big money, which doesn't bode well for us holding on to players.I would be surprised if Stopforth was simply let go. I expect we will find out soon enough when they join new clubs, or the managers have their say, but I don't think it's unreasonable to ask why players are going...isn't that what forums are for? In the meantime, should we be signing players now, or wait until the last minute and try to put a team together? No one can predict when we will next play.

All players have been offered reduced terms, its up to them if they want to accept or not. Why does there have to be a sinister motive behind these things? There's weirder stuff happening in the football world at the moment which does need clarity, but this situation is not one of them. All rcb wants to know is where is his next bit of ammunition to beat the managers up with is coming from. He's a wum

It's a perfectly healthy debate about the different approaches being taken by clubs. Personally I think clubs that are signing players now are taking a huge gamble...but if the season does kick off in October we could be playing catch up for (rightly) being prudent. I guess there are a few clubs which don't rely on attendances (sugar daddy owners) who could profit from the whole mess. Obviously players are scrambling to take any deals being offered (hence we lose Asante to a club which he'd never normally entertain). Unless I'm reading too much into a tweet by Jonno, the two lads we've lost will likely sign for Manchester clubs in the league below. Not bothered about Burton but Stopforth could still have done a job

Any chance we could use these threads to talk about, you know.. players? Rather than bickering about pointless crap? Cheers

Can't say I see the issue with asking whether the managers chose to release them or they chose to reject new contracts. Seems like there's a bit of a pile on here which is uneccessary.

OK then, let's let this one play out. Hopefully someone tells him all about it, so we can see how he uses the information for his own enjoyment to slag the club and managers off. Its a matter of time, he cant help himself

Not sorry to see Stopforth or Burton go. Stopforth was amazing upto the injury. But not really the same player after it. Time has probably caught up with both of them. We need more youth and energy in the midfield. As for Waring. He is a decent targetman and with decent coaching could be a really good player. As others have said he is often too isolated. And he needs a proven goalscorer to learn from Needs to improve his finishing, because he is not a natural goalscorer. 6 goals in 13 games for Barnsley at Championship level suggests he has it in him. Unless they were playing a more direct style of play that suited his game better.

I like to think I’m quite a level headed bloke that gives people a chance but the majority of his posts have an antagonising tone. I agree, there isn’t anything particularly sinister about his question re Burton and Stopforth but people on here have seen too often what his ‘non-sinister posts’ lead onto.

I'm quite familiar with RCB's style and tone. I've had a few spats with him in the past, which I quite enjoyed and we were both able to remain civil.
I also applaud his campaign to save the apostrophe (and generally maintain standards of spelling and grammar).
Without wishing to put words into his mouth, RCB has always struck me as an old school supporter who is disillusioned with what the club is now and perhaps doesn't buy into the managers. He's also happy to fight his corner and take those HE perceives as morons to task (ie moltisonti, weareblues and oaks blue). Don't know the guy but the forum would be a duller place without him. He's perfectly entitled to be negative, without receiving abuse. Anyway, I'm mindful that another thread is turning into the rcb show, so that's my final word.

So why come on here and turn everything into a negative? Just log off, go for a walk and maybe get a sky subscription until another generous benefactor comes along? He (amongst others) makes coming on here a trial.

Can we get back on topic please lads Why don't you deal with the root of the problem if you want sensible discussion that stays on topic. Too many times rcb is the cause of childish nonsense, illustrated perfectly by the numerous turd emojis on this thread. Its not enough just to block him, as other people quote due to his natural appetite for winding people up. He's the definition of a WUM and would be banned from most forums. I can start a dedicated thread to stay on this topic if you'd like
