What i will say, is the point raised by a few regards 'Chester City' etc does stand to a degree. You consider that most people have been watching league football over the years and tbf when we re-started we absolutely pissed this level, 100 points 100 goals etc (and its not got stronger since) i can understand why it is exceptionally difficult to support this team. I have no doubt the fans at Stockport were just the same, I mean, some of their fans will remember the championship days. This leagues a completely different league since we did that Teams have way more money to spend then us

York, yes, (£900k was being bandied around) but when you factor in the money from our benefactor which has gone directly on wages and transfer fees I would be very surprised if there were many other teams with a bigger playing budget this season. I would be amazed if we were not top seven on budget. Having said that, I'm happy to be corrected. I assume it's impossible to say, but does anyone know of other teams with a bigger budget? To my knowledge I've never seen a 'league table' based on budget...would be interesting.

Halifax certainly were splashing the cash. Its this nonsence saying this league is stronger now. From what we've all seen it certainly isn't. People talking like Nathan Jarman, Ash Williams, The Turners were league standard. They we of that level, and we pissed the league. That's why some people are struggling i think.

They were very good players at the level we were at but with the exception of maybe Jarman none made an impact at Step 1 of non-league. Nathan Turners being a great example having a decent career at BPA and Farsley but certainly not football league level. Only exception being Sarcevic obviously

Ours is around 250k I think? The management and coaching staff must take up £125k and many clubs will include that figure in the playing budget. My opinion is that only York are spending more than us. If Hereford are spending £700k they are wasting vast amounts of money and something is badly wrong at the club. Ours must be in excess of £500k for football related staff.

I've read elsewhere that Hereford are spending that amount, but I believe it's what they've built up having big gates as they've won 3 or 4 promotions.
