The National League is the most clueless and unprofessional league going in my opinion. The EFL has prestige, the leagues below us are laid-back and fun. Ours is neither.
Well done to the club. As Dave Powell's just said, it's far more decisive leadership than the league has shown.

In truth we could have just said the same as the other clubs, so wonder what the 'Local circumstances' are? Maybe a little bit of 'dissent' here from clubs, as why didn't the other clubs report their reluctance to play before the National Leagues decision was issued, Harrogate were supposed to play tonight, they must have known before 3pm, they had 'staff in isolation'? There is a hospital with a Coronavirus hub just up the road from the ground; suspect that’s what the local circumstances are. And an as yet unconfirmed rumour of a Covid-19 fatality last night in that facility.

Yes it didn't go unnoticed on the news that the clubs put fans last....may sound pedantic to some but i think it says something.

I’m indoctrinating the kids with Chas Sumner’s “125 Years On The Borderline” complete history of the Oldco.
Well it is football day after all.

Yet you’re now going to a game with triple the crowd?! Younger people like myself will manage to get over it. With a fair few of our supporters being quite old the club have made the right decision in case any of them were to get affected.

Many of our supporters are already affected, lol.

'However, considering our local circumstances, we have taken the decision to postpone our fixture'. That would seem to suggest there has been a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases locally? The statement also implies that this was a unilateral decision taken by CFC and without agreement from the National League - there may be consequences to follow. It may well be the right thing to do but 'league rules state that failure to complete a fixture, etc etc'. These are exceptional circumstances. I phoned up my gym yesterday (gym's are hotbeds for viruses) and they agreed to give me one month suspension of my membership, which I pay annually. Usually they ask for a doctor's note for this. I think the league have to accept that some clubs will be affected more than others and it's right that they make unilateral decisions.

Still, enjoy it if you fancy it. Personally I think it's irresponsible for the biggest club outside the league (Notts County) to be playing, especially with Forest fans kicking their heels for the next few weeks at least.

I don’t agree with the National League either, but I’ve just gone for a day out.

[br I don't see how closures, shut down of flights, cancellation of even relatively small conferences is sustainable. Individuals, companies will go bust in vast numbers. It isn't sustainable for months.

It finished Notts County 4-0 Eastleigh in what was a very one-sided game. County were on top for most of the spectacle and scored four really well-taken goals to rip the visitors apart. Meanwhile, Eastleigh were woeful as they were as bad as us seven days ago, with their sloppy play and lack of fighting spirit. Tom Crawford came on for Notts in the second half where he made some decent passes and an impressive recovery tackle.

My point was that you said it was an unconfirmed rumour. Whether or not it turns out to be true, I don't see how posting that in the current climate is any way helpful

I know someone who works at the Countess. It helped give context to reasons why the game was called off. Tedious oaf.

I personally think Barrow will still win it but County look strong bets for the play-offs.

Well your friend should know better than to release this kind of information until it is a confirmed case and it has been officially released by COCH. Did your friend explain to you that it takes time when the bloods are taken that you have to culture them and then confirm the case ? I guess not. Just to add that any press release would have to be seen and advice taken by the hospital legal team, but your mate knows best because he/she works at the hospital. God help us with employees like that
