"Our intention is to transform the stadium into a 365-day destination by ensuring the architectural design compliments the implementation of new business opportunities for the Football Club. Building upon the existing heritage and community ties the club have strived to develop over recent years, it is our aim to enhance the supporters experience, attract new demographics and provide additional amenities to the local community.” Phase 1 works are due to start on site in July 2020, focusing on the refurbishment work to the Sponsors Lounge and also the creation of the first Supporter’s Fan Zones through a self-build initiative which will be led by Define Architects. www.e-architect.co.uk/manchester/altrincham-football-club-in-greater-manchester-ukNow it may just be me, but the timing of this announcement seems a bit off, given this - www.gofundme.com/f/alty-fc-donation'Due to the Coronavirus we may not play again this season. We have commitments of circa 100k. We Will not have any income over this period. Any help you can support with would be appreciated.' N.B. Mr Looney is a director of the football club.

I think the timing is astute. With very little happening in the world of business or football it’s made a splash today with plenty of media exposure and people talking about it on many forms of social media. A ten year stadium rebuild programme has little link to a crowdfunder for a clubs current predicament, due to football being suspended. Don’t we have a millionaire backer building a sports village and we are still asking for donations?

I have no idea about Alty and their financial position but Stuart Murphy has a habit of pledging money in advance and paying later. It would be very interesting to know if there is money promised by him for this season which has not been given to the club yet ?

We will soon know when the players and managers wages are due to be paid I guess? Would be nice to get some sort of state of play financial update from the board though.

Agree strongly that now the outstanding fixtures have been cancelled and the financial implications must be clearer then the minimum we need to know is how long an the club survive on existing funds. Can we last until June,September, or calendar year end? We should not be relying on Stuart Murphy to bail us out. We must find a way to survive on our own efforts as a fan owned club. If we can’t then we need to be honest as we are then in a totally different scenario. So for me it is sink or hopefully swim by our own fans input, with any input from Stuart as a bonus.

For me, this whole situation is beyond Chester FC. That might not go down well but for me I think we all have to do all we can to make do for ourselves and see what is left of the world at the end of it all. For me, the football club means a hell of a lot to me but unfortunately I'm stretched financially as it is so I just can't afford to keep donating. The priority is the human race carrying on, and sport will have to take a back seat until the world finds a way forward, no matter how painful that is. I struggle to see how the club survives if we don't play games until next year, but it's not like we are the only ones and sadly I think its a waiting game to see the true extent of all this.
