Wolves 3 Blues 1, as a wee boy, think it was 88? Remember getting severe earache that same night after standing in the cold for 90 mins..good old Chester inflicting pain from the very start!

Remember it well - my first game was a 0-0 draw with Chesterfield 7th April 1958.
Immediately hooked and have witnessed some amazing highs, and far too many dismal lows in the intervening years.
In response to the question from "Spartacus", for some reason Malcolm Starkey springs to mind as the first substitute used.

Started going in 94-95 but no idea what my first game was. First one I can actually remember was a 4-1 win in the League Cup against Wigan at the start of the season after.

Well seeing has the name game didn't seem to be taken seriously how about first ever Chester game. Mine was at Sealand Road Chester 0 Man Utd 5 , the first game under the new floodlights. From memory around 1963. Mine was Wolves at Sealand Road in 1989, 1-1 Graham Abel on the half volley. Since then I have seen us relegated 3 times, win promotion 5 times, go into administration a couple of times and go bust.

Chester 3 Hartlepool 0 1974. We won our first 8 or 9 games at home in a row without conceding a goal, before a 1-1 draw with Cambridge. Got to the League Cup semi final and then got promoted by the smallest margin when Lincoln got beaten away by Southport, who'd already been relegated I think. I thought all seasons were going to be like that, how wrong I was

Chester 1 - 1 Sheffield Utd, 79/80
Not my first ever football match though, Shamefully that was Wrexham - Brighton 78/79. My dad was Welsh.

When I got home I used to write the scores and scorers on my bedroom wall, after the season we had it was many years before I let Dad decorate and only then after I got a Polaroid pic of it. Unfortunately the photo has faded badly. What a season to start following the Seals!!

December 30th 1972 Chester 0 Newport County 2. It was a dire performance and if the internet and Deva Chat had been around at the time the match thread would have been at least 8 pages.
Luckily for me started going regularly from November 73 which coincided with a 30 match unbeaten home run with the Cup exploits and the dramatic promotion when Southport pulled off that shock win mentioned by Lincoln Exile. Only Chester could finish their League season out of the promotion places and end up getting promoted 3 days later !

Yes Tommy Singleton the first substitute. A half back signed from Peterborough for £6000 - those were the days it was a lot of money then. Sadley he never really made an impression that I can recall.

I dug this up on Wikipedia; Former Chester defender Tommy Singleton sadly passed away at the end of December 2005 at the age of 65. Tommy has the distinction of being the first ever Chester substitute when he came on for his debut against Stockport County in the opening game of the 1965/66 season.

Mine was v Colchester in April 1994, we won 2-1 with a late Chris Lightfoot goal. My second was the Hereford win a few weeks later that sealed promotion.
Basically, my mum took me to the Deva on a wet afternoon thinking it would stop me mithering to go to a football match. It backfired!

Pretty sure my first away game was in 1992, April 25th v Stoke. Gary Bennett scored the winner not far from the end of the game, we won 0-1. Think we prevented them going up that day and started a run to keep us safe but not 100% sure.
Not sure when first home game was, but remember going regularly home and away when the Deva opened in 93/94 season.
I really wish I hadn't been such a naughty kid, might have got away with this whole having to go and watch Chester as punishment thing...

Remember this game vividly, was happy to be kept behind after the game as the Stoke fans kicked off at the end. Think it was a protest regarding the Chairman but it was pretty hairy running the gauntlet back to the car afterwards.

Yes, I was at that game sitting in the stands with my friend who was a Stoke supporter. I remember jumping out of my seat in celebration when `Gary Bennett scored only to become aware that 3000 Stoke supporters were stuck in their seats.😀

Went Sealand road but too young to remember game/s. Remember a 2 all draw with Bolton and a 3-2 win at home to Swansea in first season or so at deva. That 4-1 win v wigan in cup ( did martinez play against us as one of the 3 amigos? ) as previously mentioned , that rings a bell. Anyone remember Billy Stewart saving a last minute pen possibly on a Tuesday night , early seasons at deva. Can’t remember who against . Blurred memories from my youth when seasons merged into one. Back in them days I’d get up and go out to play footy with mate next door at 9am and come home at 10pm. Was only about 11 but we went on hipkiss to Cardiff (Sinclair in goal) and Gillingham (we played Brighton). Went home at 10pm and mum and dad thought I’d been at my mates house all day. Also remember listening to marcher fm or whatever it was called. They’d follow us, Wrexham and Tranmere, I think. If one of the teams scored , mid song it would interrupt with “goal !!” Or “ oh no” if the oppo scored. Then you would have to wait until the song finished to find out what had happened.
