FC Boca Gibraltar is delighted to announce the appointment of a new managerial team. Stephen Vaughan and Luke Purcell will join the first-team setup at the club for the 2020-21 season. Vaughan, 35, is a former professional footballer, having played for Liverpool, Chester City, Rochdale and Boston United before a cruel injury cut his playing career short. The ex-Bangor City Football Club director of football was also an England youth international in his playing days. “I’m really excited about this new project and can’t wait to get started,” said Vaughan, who joins as manager. “Having held discussions with the managing director Aaron Edwards, I believe we can take Boca to the next level." "Recruitment will be key to the success that we hope to bring to the club and the process to bring in a group of players we understand to follow the way we wish to work is already underway, with a number of new signings to be announced upon the official opening of the transfer window.” Joining former Floriana and Mosta man Vaughan on the coaching staff on the Rock will be ex-Fulham youngster Luke Purcell. Purcell began his coaching career at Southend United as the club’s centre of excellence manager before spells at Bangor City, Southport and working alongside a number of high-profile former Premier League and international stars. FC Boca Gibraltar Agree Multi-Year Sponsorship Deal.
FC Boca Gibraltar is delighted to confirm the start of a new multi-year sponsorship agreement with Total Sports Management. The new and exciting relationship will be in force from July 1, 2020, and will see TSM become the club’s main sponsor. “We have been in discussions with Total Sports Management since December last year about a sponsorship opportunity, but due to various factors, including the developing COVID-19 pandemic, it was not possible at the time,” the managing director of FC Boca Gibraltar Aaron Edwards said regarding the deal. The deal will secure FC Boca Gibraltar for the foreseeable future while also granting them access to wider commercial opportunities, with TSM representative William Adamson coming into the club as the commercial director.Further news will be made public in due course. William Adamson is, presumably, the same William Adamson who is currently the sole director of Vaughan Sports Management. That'll be the end of them, then.
How many clubs have they destroyed now? I've lost count!

Isn't Stuart Murphy based in Gibraltar? I always felt the link was possibly there between Murphy and Vaughan, from back when he previously sponsored CCFC. I do wonder if we dodged a huge bullet there, they have obviously been looking to get back into another club, the timing is very suspicious.

Lots of my clients have businesses registered in Gibraltar / Jersey and Isle of Man for tax reasons. Mr Murphy resides in Mallorca as he has said and has been reported many times.. Not quite sure why there is still an obsession with it as he has walked (or was told to) away... We need to focus on getting CFC financially stable not concerning ourselves about “what ifs”.. The future is here and now. If as fans we don’t focus on that then there won’t be a club to moan about..

Absolutely right, focus on what we have and what we need to do to firstly survive and then move forward. The CFC conspiracy theorists of course would love to think that there is and always has been a link between Mr Murphy and SV!! Yesterday’s men, move on.

The wider point is valid nonetheless - look how easily some fans were taken in by him. The idea that somebody who allegedly uses tax havens to undermine the UK taxbase would have been a suitable owner of a community football club is laughable. And that's without even touching his crackpot plans for surf beaches and theatres.
Lessons need to be learned if we are to 'move on' appropriately.

The only time I want to hear about Stuart is when he's settled the debts for the monies he had pledged. At that point we thank him and move along.

We have significant financial obligations in terms of manager and player contracts and the Board are faced with a difficult task as the club has lost 3 major sponsors in the last six months. Tranmere Rovers Chairman Mark Palios thinks the pandemic could result in a drop of 50% in income from commercial sources which with the possibility of reduced capacity at Stadiums will endanger our future together with that of many other clubs.

Why now and not then? Quite simple for me - a lot of stuff that goes on at board level is confidential, and that’s just the same as any business. To open yourself up as a board member and / or chair and respond to one post, those that want to throw bricks would then expect you to answer every single point, every single rumour, every single slight on yourself or other volunteers, and then criticise when you did, or did not. Personally my time was limited and I gave every hour I could to being involved at the club, but as you know the last year or so that became increasingly difficult to manage, there was no time to even glance at DC let alone post or get involved. Banksy, Dave Williams and previously Richard did a good enough job in my view, it’s really a no win. Now, whilst I’ve got a bit more time whilst I get treatment and recover, I will only occasionally engage, IF I think I can add something in context or correct a factual wrong - but am still bound by the code of conduct of a director so confidential matters will remain just that. i hope my engagement now is welcomed, but equally if not I shall just stay away altogether and leave the rumour mongers and top business people on here to say whatever they think is right. At the end of the day we support free speech, even if sometimes it is bo**ocks!

Don’t quite get your point. Nothing new on here that though (generally, not aimed at you before you start throwing stuff!!!). a lot of companies are registered elsewhere or have a subsidiary registered in a tax haven (Cayman Islands is still popular) most betting companies have online businesses registered out of the UK to avoid tax and more stringent legislation. It’s life in 2020.. the world is now a small place.

Its great that you can come on here now and have a say on matters. Quick question, how does the club move forward during these difficult times?

For the sake of clarity all of Mr Murphy's companies are registered in the UK. The Gibraltar address is a correspondence address for him personally not any of his companies. Tax rates are much higher for Spanish residents than for residents of Gibraltar so I would think it is the Spanish authorities who would be very concerned if they thought rules on residency were being abused. Very surprised if anyone would take such an obvious risk of upsetting them given the way they feel about Gibraltar.

I'd like to think that anyone is welcome to post at any time as long as the posts are within the acceptable limits. I also agree that there are items that should be confidential and in a lot of cases we as supporters and owners don't really NEED to know. The board is elected to represent us and we have to trust that you make the correct decisions for the club. Of course, we are all human and where humans are involved, errors of judgement occur. Not pointing a finger by the way I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your service and best regards. NB Back to the original topic, I really hope the V******s get caught out.

As I replied to a question posed by yourself I think it is important to be factually correct. Having met Stuart Murphy I know he goes to great lengths to obey the Tax rules of the UK and Spain. It is unfair to him to state otherwise and could have serious consequences for Stuart if DHW is correct in what he posted. Stuart may own properties in the UK and Spain but the Companies House website provides concrete evidence that he is not a resident of either country for the purposes of Income Tax. Income Tax rates are higher in Spain than the UK. Whatever anyone may think about tax exiles it would be very odd for someone to move to another country in order to pay more tax. Stuart may not be a suitable owner of Chester FC or the Deva Stadium in my opinion but he deserves to be believed about his residency status as per the Companies House website. beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07081359/filing-history. I understand why you have done so FOP but there is no need as I am at fault for using the word imlpy rather than state in another post (now edited). You did not raise the issue about Companies being registered outside the UK and were merely making a general comment.
