Not a comfortable mid-table finish and an FA Cup run in only our second season at NL level, no? One season out of about 5 at that level?🤣🤣🤣 Fan ownership doesn’t work without investment look at wrexham, Hereford, Fc United, Telford etc etc Prime examples as to why it doesn’t work wish people would realise this Don’t deflect, you said the furthest we’ll go is a relegation battling NL side and I proved you wrong.

I thought our lowest crowd of 1,600 was a bad one on a cold tuesday night, Asante will have to get used to less than 150. How the hell can they possibly pay those wages.

It isn't a proven fact at all. We had one ‘successful’ season in the NL out of all the rest 2 of which we was relegated Notice how Wrexham, Telford Hereford Aren’t exaxtly setting the world on fire being tan owned... Telford sold to private ownership a few years ago and fairly sure Hereford's Supporters Trust only owns about 40%?
AVFO will probably know for sure.

Officially gone to Gloucester, wow. For some reason I thought he was under contract until the end of next season and we'd be due a fee? But judging by the wording, he's just left on a free? Slightly embarrassing losing our top scorer on a free to Gloucester. 🤬 You should know by now that in the National leagues the size of your crowds has got no bearing on the money you spend Always been the same.

But Exeter have been a strong League 2 club for years and Newport are having their best spell in decades. That's before we come to AFC Wimbledon.

It doesn’t take away the fact that we had a brilliant striker and have lost him to Gloucester. I can take him moving up a league but bloody Gloucester.

To be fair their crowds are poor because they're playing in Evesham. You'd expect them to be higher once they get their new ground.

Lots of gems will be available before the season starts so no need to panic let’s keep raising money so we will be in the best possible position when it comes to building a new squad.

Nothing we can do about it but maybe it is time for George Waring to shine, he has gone of the radar since Asante arrived and he had just started picking up form. Perhaps we already have a gem if he can pick up his form get training hard GW

Everyone seems to be dissing Gloucester but hang on a minute they are a team on the up ( unlike us), they are moving into a new stadium in the city after 15 years away and have made blue chip signings at our level of Liam Daley and George Carline from Solihull on 2 years deals and now Asante somehow I think we are going to be in their shadows when all this gets started again

History means nothing it’s the present that matters Newport average 3800 And Exeter average 4800 Actually it's the future that matters most. They're two leagues higher than us. It's the fact that they're doing well and are enjoyable clubs to support that's getting them higher than usual attendances.

Footballs changed a lot since they was in the NL regardless Much more money involved and majority teams are Full Time.

Don’t think Akwasi was ever going to stay if he had offers elsewhere. Probably already knew that we couldn’t match the deal he was originally on. Good luck to him, hope he gets a good reception if he visits the Deva as an opposition player. One or two clubs seem to be making signings, noticed that Southport have done a couple. When the time comes let’s hope Bern and Jonny can identify another gem. Every team always needs a talisman for the fans to identify with and Akwasi certainly became one very quickly.

As someone who lives in Worcester I can tell you that Glouceter is a rugby union city ( who play in front of average 13K crowds ) not soccer . Cheltenham Town play about 6 miles away and Forest Green 12/15, so the chances of Glos building a substantial support base , new ground or not , are in my view pretty slim. As a fans own club the thing that we could have done with but have singularly failed to achieve , often when the prospects were good, is FA cup runs. And of course selling on players who we have developed, I think that is what started Shrewsburys rise wasn't it ?

Good luck to him. But surely it's absolutely mad for non-league clubs to be signing players right now when they have no idea what next season looks like yet, and when it will likely be behind closed doors for the foreseeable when it does eventually return at our level.

Believe they’ve been taken over since then Or someone’s invested Owners appear to be the same. They were apparently flat broke in April according to the article. Now they are signing £750 per week football players with no current prospect of them playing football. Bit galling they are getting an 18% grant for the new Stadium whilst lashing out wages like that.

I think you all best get used to players leaving and contracts cancelled, that's where we are at now with out a generous backer like stuart Murphy. Like they say be careful what you wish for .

I wish for a sustainable club, whatever the league is. I believe we’ve got a core of talented players already for next season within budget, and then hopefully it’s time for some of our highly rated youth players to start showing they have got what it takes. Losing Asante is a blow, but I’m sure we all expected him to leave now that Uncle Stu spat the dummy out. We have lost good strikers before, and we will again.....nature of the beast at this level.
