Very professional and well worded update for the fans to understand our situation. Well done to the board.

Excellent update from the board. It's good to know that a lot is going on behind the scenes to both protect us now and prepare for the future. When the EFL/NL eventually get round to making a decision on the longest season in history that will really help us. Let's hope things will become clearer in relation to next season as soon as is feasible so Bern/Jonno can begin to prepare. Hopefully we can galvanise the fanbase in the way Darlington have done to boost that budget and make up for the SM shortfall.

Yes, a fantastic update from the Board and well worded. I’m glad all but about 25 season ticket holders waived their right to a refund, so we’ll done season ticket supporters!

I applaud the board for keeping the fans updated but basically we’re knackered!
I can only see a handful of lower division/top non league clubs surviving.
I personally think we should sell season tickets on a donation basis with priority entry when the authorities allow a small number of spectators entry into the grounds (surely 700-800 crowd is possible with social distancing on a modern ground like the Deva?) and actively seek external investment. (Going to be a difficult sell - ‘Do you want to put money into a business with no income and large outgoings???’)
We somehow need to give Bern & Johnno a budget to work with, otherwise not only will the out of contract players go, the contracted players & managers will want to leave.

So, if only a handful of non league clubs survive then where are all our contracted players going to go, also bearing in mind we could ask for a fee? We are in a better position than most clubs at our level, as we don't rely on a single owner. But you are right, the future of the club will be down to the generosity of fans and the efforts of the fundraising team to bring in new revenue. It will be tough and we won't know what financial position we are in until we find out when we can play in front of full crowds. Very few teams are signing players now....do you think Asante would have gone to Gloucester under normal circumstances? He's quite sensibly opted for security over ambition.

We're so used to seeing what's happening inside our four walls (No Stuart Murphy moving forward, the loss of revenue from the civid lockdown etc) it's easy to forget that we'll be in a much better position then many clubs. As the Board update said, self sufficient clubs will be less affected than others.

Does he legally owe us anything? What he agreed to pay was a donation. Is that even legally enforceable?

We were doing due diligence making sure everything was contractual and watertight apparently.
