Where was he today?
Anyone that tells me he was injured is lying because he’s been well enough to do all this coaching.
Last time we have seen him in a Chester shirt and at this level of football as far as I’m concerned.

Have it from a solid source that his groin is knackered. Can still do his training but can not operate at 100%. Doubt if he will be in next seasons squad, it is the midfield that needs a shake up.

Massive difference between coaching (one to one with kids) and playing senior football, full 90 minutes. I'm sure we'll find out his situation soon enough, the build up to our biggest match not necessarily the best time.

Give the lad a break. He has been a good servant to the club and never gave less than 100%.

Gary Roberts has had a better season than Scott Burton. There can be no doubt on that one.

...and to be fair, Glendon had one of his best games for us yesterday, I think (largely after Burton went off)...

For all the people that think Scott Burton and Glendon are better midfield players than Gary Roberts. I think their respective careers would tell a different atory. In the lads prime, I doubt if Glendon or Burton would be fit to lace his boots

I'd say Gary Roberts has been our best and most consistent central midfielder this season. He's done the hard work in there. Glendon may look smoother to some, but Gary does the tough stuff better.

i have heard betting on football, and been to court. Wouldn't be shocked if true in fairness no doubt his fan club will rim him regardless even if it is.
Wonder if he had a bet on him missing that pen against spenymoor last season

i have heard betting on football, and been to court. Betting on football, is that a criminal offense? only if he was offered a bribe to throw a game and accepted it would it become criminal i would have thought?

A semi-pro player in the second tier of the Welsh pyramid is not allowed to bet on a Chilean fourth division match, for example. Stupid but that’s the law. Actually, strictly speaking, any CFU member as owner of the football club is also not allowed to place any football related bet either. Seem to remember FCUM sending a memorandum to all their members advising them against placing bets on football.

It's not a criminal offence so wouldn't go to court. Look at previous cases, all were dealt with by the FA and subsequent regulatory bodies.
Anyway I see absolutely no evidence that Roberts has done anything of the sort bar a one liner in this thread.
What I do think is that he looks pretty unfit in the pictures I've seen, whether that be down to injury, not looking after himself during lockdown (like many of us no doubt) or the camera angle used..
Whether he plays a part for us next season and beyond remains to be seen. But he's had a decent couple of years for us, had some fantastic performances and not really been involved in any of the contraversy that beset his earlier career. Which was a concern for some of us when he first arrived.
What ever happens in the next few weeks and months I'd wish him all the best anyway.

I actually though Duds looked a bit porky when he came off the bench on Sunday. I like Roberts and think that if fit he has one more season at this level, maybe not as a regular but as a squad player. I do think it's a bit odd he was left out of the entire matchday squad for Sunday though which is something that was always going trigger people to think the worst. Hopefully either himself or the managers can clarify at some point.

Can we all just be a bit more civilised here? No more talk of rimming! We're all adults who are capable of sensible discussion.
