Big earners gone. Beggars can’t be choosers in this pandemic era. Nothing to do with money they’ve just got millions for selling ground Probably more to do with fact manager wants fresh slate

York going against the trend of retaining a core to build on and get out of this league - they've not messed about in releasing 13; Tom Allan, Andy Bond, Jordan Burrow, Nathan Dyer, Kallum Griffiths, Joe Tait, Macaulay Langstaff, Dan Maguire, Steve McNulty, Adriano Moke, Jake Watson, Jake Wright, Wes York Adam Buxton has also left after his short term deal. www.yorkcityfootballclub.co.uk/news/club/thirteen-players-be-released-retained-list-announcedCue someone saying NcNulty could do a job for us. Wouldn't mind a few of the others, though! wouldn't mind bond as he is someone who can actually pass a ball burrow a good striker who knows where the. Back of the net is and York with the right mindset

They should have walked the league and at one stage looked like they were going to. will be interesting to see who they bring in to improve on the batch leaving. Bit of a risk to make such big changes. Our managers seem happy with what they have🤔

Seems York fans are happy with what Watson has done a few wanted Moke to stay but the rest can go
McNulty will be a big loss to them in my opinion

Boosting the coffers probably relies on if Norwich sell Ben Godfrey, York have a sell-on for him I think.
Where's avfo when you need him.

Where's avfo when you need him. Pretty sure there was a deal between McGill and the Council, to ensure the clubs debts were cleared in full from the proceeds, if they granted Planning permission for the old ground. The new ground is out by The Monks Cross retail park on the East side of York. May explain why they've continued to rack up debts. Knew they'd get the money from the sale, and it also forced the Council's hand. Maybe they will now have to work within a realistic budget. That would explain why the over paid lot are leaving. Rumour has it McNulty was on >£1k a week, and didn't train most of the week. Looking at some of the other names on that list, they wouldn't come cheap either.

So definitely getting rid of all the top earners for financial reasons, as I thought. Why would he want to rebuild by losing his best players - they finished the season top of the league!

This is the info from York - its been a very long running saga over there (Fiona was a York girl so we have a lot of contacts in York..).. York City F.C. York Community Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium currently under construction in Huntington, York, England. It will be owned by City of York Council...

Just read that York City will be moving from full time to the hybrid model next season.

Played previously for Hartlepool and Stafford so mobility does not seem a problem.

The huge risk for clubs is that the new season is also suspended, and not completed.
It's unlikely there will be another furlough scheme. Clubs would be prudent to include a 'covid clause', to avoid paying players when games are unable to be played. If they don't, that might be the end of half the clubs at lower levels.
May sound harsh, but the alternative would be administration for clubs to avoid having to complete contracts.
Given the news from Greater Manchester last night, can't see a normal season ahead. Whether that's reduced attendance, or minimal attendance, or no attendance.
