Great idea but the costs 🤯
Tell me if I'm wrong but it's around 30 quid per car with 2 peoole. For any further it's 5 per person.
So me, my partner and two kids will be charged £40 plus refreshment costs for Hocus Pocus? Wow.

I would’ve said you should pay per car because you’re not taking up any more space as any other car but I can appreciate a car with two parents and three kids inside paying the same to watch a movie as just a dad and lad or just a mum and daughter isn’t really fair.

Sitting in a car parked in the rain, watching films you've probably already seen for £30, isn't my idea of a great idea. It might work as a novelty factor. I suppose it's also a safer way to go to the cinema. Think I'll be giving it a miss.

Let's hope loads of people go down and enjoy it, and the club makes some money.

There must be toilets on the English side. The main stand is in England and has toilets, otherwise get portaloos!

Suspect they can’t be relocated to Lloegr because that is where the big screen and the cars will be situated. No room.

As the Deva is road locked in England any Welsh Police using transport to the ground to enforce the above would be breaking their own lockdown laws.
They would have to drive to Saltney Ferry, walk over the bridge, down the river bank, up Bumpers Lane and get in through the hedge. The 2 entrances to the car park are also in England.
Either that or swim over from River Lane and come over Gorst Farm fields.
It is pettiness in the extreme and devalues the very serious reasoning behind the Welsh lockdown.

It does seem spectacularly petty to cancel it for the sake of 30-40 foot, I suspect it's been pulled due to Welsh-based customers not being able to attend rather than a few toilets being over the border.
Just out of interest I had a look at OS maps to see where the border is and they show the entire stadium as being in Wales, with only the corner of the ticket office in England. When Welsh independence comes I'll be claiming it as a spoil of war - Fe godwn ni eto!

Granted there are bigger things going on but could this situation finally lead to some sense regarding that particular part of the border? The reality is that it’s only accessible from England and wales feel like they need to enforce their rules on that land. Withdraw the border 250 yards to the line of the hedge for our plot and avoid any of this. The argument that it has cost a community club and local business money in hard times gives it weight and in reality I don’t think wales would put up much of a fight would they? The ground location gets mentioned in quizzes and that’s about it. I would think it makes them feel uncomfortable more than anything which has been highlighted this week. The decision and the coverage has received local and national coverage today.

The decision and the coverage has received local and national coverage today. The same applies to Saughall Colts JFC. Their ground straddles the border, so from tonight have had to cancel all their Chester JFL home games for 3 weeks despite the kids and parents living, working, schooling etc in England. Very little sensibility is applied.

I suppose as anal as it sounds, you have to draw the line somewhere and the "line" in this case is the Welsh border.
Imagine it was the other way round and there were relaxed restrictions in Wales, but strict ones in England. We would probably want the stadium to fall under Welsh law in that case.
Chester FC doesn't have the authority to change where the Welsh border is, so the only option is to treat part of the site as England and the other as Wales, otherwise it's no man's land.

I work in Wales and have to travel across the border everyday (albeit 400 yards away) for work and have to have a letter of exception. The First Minister is trying to relieve the pressure on his hospitals and restrict the spread. I get it. But in ludicrous instances like this, where the participants all live in England so would attend English hospitals (no Welsh people would be able to travel to attend the cinema etc due to lockdown) there needs to be finesse. Currently its a sledgehammer / walnut solution.

I fully support the measures being taken by the Welsh Government, but I agree with you - incredibly petty from NWP (especially considering all roads around the stadium are in England) and I’m not in the slightest surprised by it. It’s embarrassing for them.

As a Welsh Chester Fan I am embarrassed by North Wales Police and their 'local' mentality. However, I think we should pursue the idea of moving the border so that the club is in England.
There would have to be some recompense, of course, maybe we could allocate Downing Street to North Wales and really give the local police something to occupy their minds. Plenty of real crimes going on in that street each day.
