Hope they’ve leafleted every business on that estate, there must be 100.

Starting counting businesses based on Google Maps and got to 80 before even looking at Sovereign Way or the Greyhound Park etc. Masses of potential for leafleting and putting up posters in places. Target the staff and the customers. Perhaps a sign board near the entrance to the recycle centre or top of bumpers Lane. Definitely worth a sign outside the stadium for traffic on Sovereign Way just to say Blues Bar Cafe now open. Get the word out on social media and all of us pass on the word. Tough time to start this in the current climate but with some effort this could be a good little earner for the bar and also help with the profile of the club.

The problem with leaflet drops is that on a weekly basis I'll get countless fast food leaflets through my front door. Most the time they'll just end up in the bin.
Might be best to have some sort of reward scheme - buy 9 breakfasts get 10th free etc (not sure whether the new caterers would do this though!) Then, we could do a coordinated door knock and give each business 50 reward cards for their customers (that way we are giving them a reason to promote the Blues Bar).
Bit of a faff doing the door knock, but would spread the word instantly.

I occasionally dabble in network marketing, some of which involved leafleting homeowners and following up by door-knocking them a week later. I had a trick of printing my info on one side and printing “DO NOT THROW AWAY, I WILL COME BACK TO COLLECT” on the other side and then laminating it. When I went back to “collect” that was for the whole spiel with the customer. A fair bit of effort involved but you can laminate hundreds of pages whilst binging on your Netflix series and it stands out more in the long run.

Once the word gets out I bet this place will be thriving. Not only used by business's around the ground but by local builders/tradsmen, delivery drivers etc..

When you did this network marketing it wasn't on a Sunday morning, wearing a suit while carrying a copy of the Watchtower was it .

Hit all the car dealerships too. I know from experience that car salesmen spend at least 50% of the day nipping out for food.

Earlier opening if it works? people coming off night shift / early starts, also are they able to use upstairs for company breakfast / lunch meetings which could be booked? Maybe when we are away and travelling, they could do a pre-Hipflask deal and if weekdays go well, they may be able to do a 9-2 most Saturdays. Would food stop at a certain time on matchdays to appease whoever is running the kiosks?
I'd forget about weddings and 18ths,21sts etc maybe just a few meetings, Christenings and funerals, daytimes but not really going to hire the space for much. else
In the evenings, would maybe try a Thursday 'club night' with Quiz, meetings, programme swapping whatever, and take it from there.
Not sure how the deal works with the club, may be just a small rental to start, as we want it to be a success, and it will need a little time, but eventually if this business goes well it can only be good for the club.

Yes, car salesmen, sales manager, Dealer Principle all manage to slip out for a quick bite to eat The hardest working, lowest paid, least appreciated, members of the team [the technicians] never seem to to get chance to get out though, funny that

Great stuff.
I hope the club don’t start laminating leaflets which sounds a really environmentally unfriendly and irresponsible way of creating unnecessary plastic and waste. However, I’m sure they won’t take such an environmentally damaging step.

However, I’m sure they won’t take such an environmentally damaging step. How is it waste if they’re going back to collect? 🤷🏻♂️ Already been pointed out by others that regular fliers just get binned. Do you not want this to be a success? We need to do more than just posting on our own Facebook page. There’s over 100 businesses across the road with employees on lunch breaks.

The fliers would work but need the menu and prices on them. These things tend to get pinned on works notice board also a system where company's can phone an order in and collect at a certain time. Laminated and later collected not covid friendly

Laminated and later collected not covid friendly Yes appreciate the Covid issue at present, fair enough. Still think laminated posters (as you say, posted to work noticeboards) are more enticing than standard little fliers that most people just throw in the bin. We need to stand out. Incidentally all of the posters around the hospital advising patients and staff on Covid precautions are laminated. Pretty sure infection control teams prefer laminated to standard paper that can tear easily and collect dust etc.

Does anyone know the exact arrangement for the Cafe? (i.e. do we get a cut of the profits, or do they pay a set fee for using the Blues Bar etc)
Also, do we still have a Commercial Group? Not heard anything in ages.

It was just a thought most cafes and pubs give out paper menu and bin them after one use

Just been on the official site to try and find the menu to look at but no mention of the cafe anywhere, not even after checking the last 6 pages of news. Could this be put on the site somewhere? Easy win for the cafe with minimal work, plus it would be a link that we could easily share with other people.

Hi. We have a contract with Aaron Poole who is running the bars and the blues bar which runs for an initial 2 years. The financial details are private but I will say the deal is very good for both parties. On the commercial front if you are looking to volunteer then please contact me on my email. paul.bodman@chesterfc.com and we can have a chat.

Just been in for lunch and had a lovely chicken burger and chips. Absolute bargain, served by friendly staff and a nice chance to be back at the Deva.
Would highly recommend and I will be visiting again.
