Yep, full marks to the toilet arrangements too - good social distancing and sensible behaviour by all.

Are there any tables outside in the week (so that 2 of us from different households can meet up for a bacon butty??)
Cheers

Just been down to pick up season ticket, so thought would pop in and see what is on offer, settled for a breakfast rap and coffee. Have to say staff very friendly, sounds like they really want to make a go of it as a cafe, cant complain at all with cost or qualtiy of food for what it is a cafe. Hope they do well, local business as well.

Any idea if they’ve hit the 100+ businesses across the road yet?

It’s been a bit of a soft launch as the new team want to make sure they are running smoothly so at the moment most interest is word of mouth but even that has been encouraging.
I don’t envy Aaron launching a new venture in this climate as with the way things are going he could be made to shut his doors at any point, but he’s definitely in it for the long term and has some really good ideas.

Quick question, where does the welsh lock down leave this? Is it still allowed to open and can you still mix?

Quick question, where does the welsh lock down leave this? Is it still allowed to open and can you still mix? The building behind the main stand is in England, so OK so far. Just been for breakfast after collecting my season ticket. Good value and excellent food. I was talking to Ken who told me the bar itself comes under Welsh regulations even though the light switches and room are in England. Isn't it time this anomaly was corrected, the line of the border was in the river but when the river was redirected then the border should have been moved with it. That whole area beyond the ground to the river and right along the old Bees Nurseries past Deeside Lane is only accessible from England yet is Welsh duristiction. In the past the government have played around with county borders moving whole towns into another county, move this CH1 area into the City and let's be logical. (Tall order expecting logic.) If you look at the growth of the City over the years it has expanded north bordering Great Sutton and Whitby, east and south. If you look at the west side on a map you have the Welsh border stopping expansion. The whole of the CH4 area is geographically Chester, from Higher Kinnerton, Penyffordd, Penymynnydd, Broughton, Bretton, Saltney and Saltney Ferry. If you'd have had natural growth then you could include Sealand, Garden City, Sandycroft, Pentre, (maybe Mancot) Queensferry and Shotton. At the very least the land on which the stadium stands should all be classified as English to simplify regulation. To be honest I'm surprised Welsh signage wasn't insisted on( no, that is not a suggestion.)

They were on about welsh signage a few years ago, but quite rightly got binned off!

On the subject of the border, unfortunately the Halloween Moonlight event scheduled to take place at the Deva will be relocated or cancelled due to the toilets being in Wales.

Been and had beans on toast with the good lady her indoors earlier today. Great service, good food and decent price.
Only thing I would say is there is no signage for it on the road, on the building or the car park. The bar looked quiet and dark and it wasn't until the young lady working in there opened the door did we know it was open.

I've been very impressed with the food there, top notch. Hopefully with the added signage and with word getting out it will get busier. It deserves to do well, good set up and good food. Would be nice if customers could access the Blues Bar wifi. Popped in on my own last visit and it would have been handy with there being a poor signal around there.

We used to have WiFi access freely available in the early Newco years. Has it not continued?

Wasn't sure if customers were allowed to access it or not.

The access code was usually kept behind the bar, but has perhaps been thrown out? There are no concerns over continued free use of the service I'm aware of (other than the overall impact on the club's broadband connection during streaming - though this isn't an issue whilst games are behind closed doors). I'll get the password reset this week and make sure it's available with the cafe staff.

Unfortunately the Blues Bar cafe will be closed from Thursday until December 2 so if you’ve not been yet, try to get down over the next couple of days and remember you can also drop off any donations for the foodbank appeal.
