We will find out our opponents at 13:00 today as the Emirates FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round draw is set to take place live on TalkSPORT 2. The ties for this round will commence on Saturday 24th October which is just less than a week away. Once again this draw will be regionalised so we can only draw teams from up North, while clubs from the National League will join the competition at this stage.
These are the teams that are likely to be placed in the Northern section: AFC Fylde Altrincham Brackley Town Chester FC Chesterfield Chorley Darlington FC Halifax Town FC United Of Manchester Guiseley Hartlepool United Ilkeston Town Marine Marske United Notts County Skelmersdale United Solihull Moors South Shields Stockport County Stafford Rangers Wrexham
Although we are destined to draw Altrincham, my prediction is an away tie against Ilkeston Town. I’d be happy if we draw them or the likes of Marine, Marske United, and Skelmersdale United. Any other predictions/preferences?

Would like an easy home draws (obvs) but would also be interested in seeing how we would do against an average NL club (eg Chesterfield). I think we have the best squad since reforming and I’d be confident it could hold its own in the NL. Would be interested to see if I am correct.

Not seen it confirmed but believe the last team drawn out of the hat in our section will get a bye through to the first round due to Macc’s demise.

Lowest raked team at home please or a Bye.
Wrexham to get knocked out.
Then Bolton at home in first round proper.
That'll do :-)

Marine hopefully - nice and easy. Want to avoid any NLP club. Marine beat Nantwich 4-1 in the last round, and they're a league above them.

Bury Town (Suffolk) Kings Lynn Town Cambridge City Brackley Banbury “Northern” section... There's 38 teams in the 'Southern ' section and only 25 in the 'Northern' section as it is. So if all the above were in the southern section as logic would dictate, that would be a 43/20 split. Massive disparity between the health of grass roots football in the south and north.

They could always add another Midlands/North region in, rather than putting everyone in from South Shields to Banbury in one "region".
The only downside to that is we might well be in such a region. A West/East split might work better than North/South. For example, Chester is only a little bit north of Boston, but that is by no means a regional trip!

Agree with this, it’s easier to travel up and down the West/East than it across the North/South - especially for non league clubs on their budgets.

These Talksport draws are so painful, always start at least 15 minutes after they say it will. Waffling nonsense in-between

If it’s a bad draw and us being in the new positive remarks only forum are we allowed to say it’s a bad draw or is that deemed being negative , asking for a friend.😉😂

Was listening to the draw and was convinced each time the likes of Solihull and King’s Lynn came out of the hat at home that we would be drawn out as the away team. Big relief to avoid such ties and to get Marine at home, although it should certainly not be treated as a foregone conclusion.
