It’s a bit daft of me to speculate to be honest but it’s a scenario that could happen and I would hope that if the FA allowed a coin toss (if both clubs had players tested positive for the virus) then both clubs would agree to share the money. Prescot Cables have withdrawn from tomorrow’s FA Trophy match with Frickley who get a bye. This virus is rampant and I expect that most people reading this will know someone who has tested positive. I’ll be 70 next year and it feels like a bit of a gamble just having a flat white outside Costa now. In theory, many more clubs will have to pull out of FA competitions. What will happen, though if a Premier League club, through to the semi finals, for example, has a few players who have tested positive and been training with a squad of twenty players. Will there be a rule for all or will the rules change to accommodate them? Of course there will you can bet your bottom dollar that when premiershite enter then there will be no forfeiting fixtures

Of course there will you can bet your bottom dollar that when premiershite enter then there will be no forfeiting fixtures Qualifying Competition If both Clubs are not able (or willing) to compete in the match during the Weekend Window or Weekday Window (as applicable), both Clubs will be deemed to have forfeited the match and withdrawn from the Competition and, subject to Rule 35, there will be one bye in the next round of the Competition. The Professional Game Board (or a subcommittee of the same) shall determine (at its absolute discretion) whether the Club shall receive the loser’s share of the prize money in respect of the match, whether both Clubs shall share the prize money in respect of the match and whether one or both Clubs shall be deemed to have forfeited the match and withdrawn from the Competition (as appropriate). Competition Proper If the competing Clubs are not able to play the match at the ground of the Home Club on the default date as specified in Rule 11(f) or (g), due to COVID-19 or for any other reason, the match shall be played as directed by the Professional Game Board and the Professional Game Board shall take such action as it deems appropriate (in its absolute discretion).

Very interesting, Thanks for that. Some impressive research! City of Liverpool’s home game (played at Bootle) against Cleethorpes in tomorrow’s FA Trophy has been cancelled and awarded to the home team. There is a statement from Cleethorpes saying that it is because C of L are playing in a tier 3 area and they deem that this is not safe for their players and officials. Apparently, their fans were not allowed to have tickets anyway (not sure why not). I am wondering if others will follow. The full statement is worth reading.

I wouldn't get to complacent as Worksop gave us a good run for our money and I expect no less from Marine, We all know NY far too well and we can expect a fight on our hands. Our gaffers better do their homework with this one as NY is no push over and will exploit any weakness at this level, welcome back to the Deva Neil you still have our respect. As we played them pre-season Bern and Jonno will know exactly what to expect! It would be a big mistake to judge a pre season game on a league game or more so on a cup game, that's called complacency.

Just null and void the season now.

Not being complacent at all . . . they will know the players and how Marine set up . . . can't be taken lightly. Believe they demolished Mossley 5-0 yesterday.

Calum may have some input as well, given his Runcorn side were beaten by Marine on pens in a previous round
