Whoever sacked Gary Rowett and appointed Zola there should leave with him. A dreadful decision made by somebody who obviously just wanted to see a 'name' in the dugout rather than a promising young manager.

Similar to giving the bloke that gave a 2 and a half year deal after 20 games to a guy who has never managed before.

In the first place I couldn't understand why Rowett got sacked. They could've been in the play-offs if he was still there.

Not really the same, although it is looking an increasingly poor decision on our part. An equivalent to what Birmingham have done might have been for us to sack Neil Young while he was winning the Evo Stick and replace him with Ian Rush or Lee Dixon.

McCarthy makes Neil young look like pep guardiola To this day I still think we were too impatient with Young. OK, the first half of that season was pretty dire, but we were never as easy to beat under him as we are now, and I think we've learned how difficult this league is for a club like ours. The two managers we've had since have ultimately struggled in much the same way as he did, if not more. Saying that, he seemed to lose his magic a bit in the two jobs he had after us.

Young's team when we came into the conference was fully part time with lads working all day and then going training that must have been difficult in an almost full time league and a bit of a culture shock. Saying that we did beat Wrexham away.

Neil Young was at the Chester match today. It's better to burn out, than to fade away

How right he was Ha Ha What he actually said in an interview with Michael Parkinson was You can write what most football league directors Know about football on the back of a postage stamp The thing is it's only got worse since then. You get the feeling many club directors don't even have a passing interest in football, let alone any knowledge of it. It's just a vehicle for their brand. Forest Green, for example, they might as well be called Ecotricity FC. You even wonder if he only picked Forest Green because they have an environmental sounding name. He even changed their colours and has revamped the everything about the club to reflect his business ethos. Well, everything except the fact that running up millions in losses with a traditional non-club club has little to do with sustainability.
