Gary proved me wrong, and knuckled down and gave a lot to the cause. He served up several moments of real match winning or saving quality. Age has probably caught up with him at this level and with our current alternatives in centre midfield he was unlikely to get much if any time off the bench. Thanks and good luck Gary.

Robbo came here with a lot of baggage and left it at the tip on his way in. Won many MOM awards and Goal of the Season, did loads in the community both for the Trust and in Blacon (which I'm sure will continue). Probably the right time for him to move on and I wish you all the very best, good luck Robbo

Quite gutted he's gone as he's been an important player for us over the last 3 years and seems like a great lad. Don't blame him though as he's got at least 3 bodies in front of him in Weeks, Glendon and Lacey, and he still has plenty to give in the game so it's only fair he goes and gets games somewhere. Gave us some brilliant moment, Southport last year he was the best player on the pitch and capped it off with a wonder strike. All the best to him.

That 25 yard rocket against Alfreton was one of my favourite all-time goals. Great technique and the power generated was impressive.
Always gave 100% and the midfield pair of Stopforth and him in the early part of last season was one of the main reasons at to why Chester were sweeping away teams by four goals.
He came with a bit of a reputation but never let the club down and both himself and the club reciprocated the community ethos.
Hope he has great success at Warrington and gets them promoted.

Came to us with a reputation for being a) a troublemaker and b) far too good for us. He was neither really, he just looked an honest, hardworking player who loved playing for us and occasionally came up with something special. Credit to him for putting his past behind him and can only wish him well. Also shows we're a good club to play for and can help get careers back on track.

I was one of those who questioned his signing and I'm more than happy to admit I was wrong! The hatrick against Alfreton. The winner away at FCUM and the Southport goal were all highlights. He also turnerd out to be an ambassador off the pitch and was always approachable in the blues bar and at club functions. I'm sure he'll be the first to admit he wasn't up to the standards of earlier in his career but he was managing to play 40+ games a season whilst others sat in the stand eating hot dogs and he often played with injuries. I'm sure Mrs weareblues is in for a good few days! Good luck Gary and thanks for the memories.

I echo everything said above. If you consider how he has supposedly previously left clubs on bad terms, its testament to himself, the club and managers that he leaves with his head held high.
Thinking back to when he arrived, it makes you wonder how much of a positive influence he seemed to have on Tom Crawford. Potentially helped both to settle into the side easier, both from Blacon at different ends of their careers, chance to shine in a struggling team.

Gary can leave Chester with his head held high. Never gave less than 100% and he will do a good job for Warrington. Good luck to him

We never did get that extra 300 on the gate every week did we?
Still, Robbo was a great servant for us and rose above the concerns about his lifestyle and previous at other clubs. You could tell he genuinely cared about playing for his hometown club and it meant a lot to him; the midfield partnership with another local lad Crawford in his first season was quality - he seemed to enjoy that role of bringing on a younger player and obviously it helped Crawford move up the leagues.
Alfreton hat trick and belters at FCUM and Southport obviously stand out, he still has a big influence even last season but never looked anywhere near the first team this time. The midfield we have is the best in the league, sadly he isn’t getting in ahead of the usual two or three who are playing.
Shame to see him move on, all the same.

All those who said he was a wage thief I can name four worse wage thieves in history Turnbull Dawson Rowe turner McComb all of them in the worst ever Chester players list All those people accusing him of being a wage thief, have short menories, I remember him playing for nothing, in the relegation season, when we were bankrupt and him and Tom Crawford, were jight years ahead of the utter shite, you mention there. The hapless, Rowe Turner's 40 yard defence spliting backpass straight to the feet of the opposition centre forward comes to mind. I thought he had taken a bung lol Only you wouldnt have got good odds on Chester defeat, in those days.
