Great day for them. Shame it will be an empty ground. Youngie v Jose . . . brilliant. I can see Spurs putting out a mix of first team and squad players. No way would you want Son, Kane, Alli and Dyer kicked to death against an 8th tier club. But whatever team they put out it will still be a team worth over £200m against a team worth £000000. Great for Marine and well done to them because they deserve it

Not a big fan of Mourinho but he usually plays half decent teams in the cups. Did what they had to, in stark contrast to Leeds.

When a player is on the bench for Marine, does that make him a submarine?

Marine sold 30,600 virtual tickets at £10 each for this match, coupled with the prize money earned should keep them going for a few years to come. Youngie has also signed a new 3.5 year contract. Will be interesting, when football gets back to "normal", to see if the money provides a springboard for them to climb the leagues.

When a player is on the bench for Marine, does that make him a submarine? In that part of the world only if he wears Yellow and not Gold!

Not a big gambler, but I'm going to call Marine in the National League Premier by 2025

HT 0-4 they need a Youngie miracle 2nd half I thought the right back for Marine, Solomon-Davies looked very competent and one which Johnson and Morley could develop like they did with Joel Taylor, Declan Weeks, Glendon etc. Definitely worth a closer look.

Not a big gambler, but I'm going to call Marine in the National League Premier by 2025 When they won the Northern Premier League a couple of times in the 1990s they did not go up to the Conference. Would assume it was to do with their stadium not meeting the requirements. Not sure if they can increase the ground’s capacity given how compact it is with housing surrounding it, but may be a problem for them in the future if they do seek to progress.

The problem with ground improvement would be people's right of light. Can you imagine if they tried to put up new stands at the end of your garden within a few yards of the house? There's no room to expand the ground really. As for ambition, would it be wise to go up as far as NL bearing there are 2 premier League clubs just up the road? Going into any of the national League system would mean a much higher wage bill with probably around the same size crowds, and spending most of the FA cup money on facilities doing it

You've not been to Hartlepool then Or Newcastle when we played there!! I seem to remember Middlesborough being freezing when we played them in the cup in the Emerson and Juninho era, think we lost 6-1? Also Preston's old terrace was always windy and cold.

Also Preston's old terrace was always windy and cold. Don't think we scored that day at Boro. Believe Noteman blazed a pen into Row z. They also had Ravanelli in his pomp. Great weekend, though...stayed in the snowy Yorkshire Dales on the way up, worrying the game would be off. Anyone remember Kendal away...that was freezing and it was Easter!

6-0 - it should've been 6-1 but Kevin Noteman's penalty has probably just about now entered Uranus' orbit.
Agree, was bloody freezing that day.

Anyone remember Workington on a Tuesday night in 2013? Pitch was freezing over and there wasn't much green left on it by the end.

Kettering in January 2004, Daryl Clare scored the only goal. Conditions fit only for polar bears and penguins.

This is one of the problems with Deva Chat contributions. What starts off as a reasonable topic (in this thread’ it was Marine FC’s FA Cup run/future progress) it then goes completely off-piste and ends up with supporters recalling away games they attended in freezing temperatures.

Can’t see too much of a problem with it really. Think we’re all suffering with a bit of lockdown boredom while we’re not in action for a bit too 😂, and it makes a change to see a thread on here not derailed due to bickering/name-calling for once.
