I would have kept Livesey, but not Grand. How can we progress re-signing the same squad that has already failed to get us promoted? We had every chance of promotion before the season was voided.

I would have kept Livesey, but not Grand. How can we progress re-signing the same squad that has already failed to get us promoted? By the same token, how can you get a team to gel and develop if you dismantle it every season? We've improved in each of the last three seasons. Keep the core of the team together and strengthen where you need to.

Fantastic news. Kevin has been an unsung hero during his second spell here as he often doesnât get the credit he deserves, because heâs been very dependable, reliable, and consistent throughout. Heâs a solid 6.5-7/10 player every week and I canât recall him putting in too many poor displays, so Iâm excited to see what else he can bring to the table next season. Itâll be another important season for Kev, particularly with Jamie Morgan pushing him all the way, so heâll have to keep performing consistently to nail down that right back spot. Iâm sure Robbo will maintain his impressive record here though and I look forward to watching more of him next campaign. All the best Kevin!

A bit heart and head with the news most of the squad from last season have been offered deals we have some good players amongst the squad but without some real quality being added to that squad I cannot see us winning the league or winning the playoffs, if the trial weekend didnât unearth any players that are good enough to improve the team not just the squad then it will have been a Total waste of time. This might upset a few on here but itâs just my gut feeling. With our budget we're not supposed to be winning this league, the budget simply doesn't stretch to signing players that will "win the league" we've signed Jackson, Joel, Asante from lower leagues who are better than this division. I don't think we can question Jono and Berns ability to find good players and to right off the trial weekend without any empirical evidence of it "being a waste of time" seems defeatist. I understand how you're thinking but if we want Jon and Bern to win the league we have to get enough fans in to deliver a league winning budget. Unless we do that that, then they are out performing us.

Unless we do that that, then they are out performing us. I canât see how anyone can assess how successful or unsuccessful the trial weekend has been. What would people like us to do announce the names of the players we intend to have a look at in pre-season so that every other team at our level can invite them over? How about we all have a little bit of patience, weâve re-signed about a dozen players from a squad that was going well last season and the ones weâve lost were only bit part players, apart from Elliot who letâs face it wasnât exactly prolific. Itâs May, the pre-season games donât start for another 2 months or so yet, letâs cut the management team a bit of slack and trust in them to uncover the gems they have done in the past.

If can find another gem like Heneghan then that's the centre of defence sorted. Grand/Livesey rotated would be ideal.

Not sure why we'd need another right back when we've got Roberts and Morgan competing for that spot, unless we're going for Morgan as first choice left back. Jamie did do well at left back, but I always feel having a right footed player on the left looks a little unbalanced and would prefer a natural choice there.

Shane has just posted that George Waring has signed a new deal. i always get the impression that there is a player, in there, but he needs to push on and play to his height and strength and impose himself on the centrebacks. He would benefit from playing alongside an 'old head', like Matty McNeil, who was by far the best targetman, we have had since we reformed.

I think he tends to suffer sometimes because of his height, I remember seeing him play away at Kettering a few seasons ago and he got penalized every time he went up for a header with a defender.

The other thing is, that for his age, he hasn't actually played that many games and is still relatively inexperienced. Targetmen tend to get better with age and experience. Best example Tom Denton

Iâm not too sure if Iâd have retained George Waring, but thereâs no doubt that next season will be an important one for him so I really hope he manages to succeed. On a few occasions last season and sometimes the year before that, I found that George missed a few too many sitters in front of goal which were chances he really shouldâve been burying away, so hopefully he has worked on his finishing since as that has been a frustration thus far. If we do manage to sign one or two eye-catching strikers I canât see G Waz being a regular starter, although that may not be a bad thing because he has proven on a number of occasions that he can make an impact from the bench by causing opposing defences problems. One thing that does favour George though is his large frame, because he has proved to be a nuisance to opposing defenders by holding the ball up and dominating in the air, while he did score a few in friendlies last season so if he can translate that into the league, then he should go on to have a much improved season. I have a lot of time for George and his family given heâs a homegrown player and his background surrounding Chester FC, and I also admire him a lot for the fantastic work he is doing for our Community Trust too (which makes me very proud), but I just feel that there are one or two things letting him down in his performances on the pitch at the moment, hence he hasnât been too prolific. Hopefully though he has worked on his weaknesses since we were last able to watch a game at the Deva, because I really do want him to achieve here and smash it next season to make all of us and his family proud. As I alluded to above, to have a chance of getting out of this league we do need to make preferably two marquee signings in our attacking department, because we havenât really replaced Akwasi Asante yet while Danny Elliott will be a key loss. This could understandably be tough to pull off if we have a tight budget again, but I have faith in Bern and Jonno that they will sort something out, because as I say we do need more firepower and goals in our side to help turn our promotion dream into a reality. All the best George!

For me it really isn't appealing to read when it's just a huge block of text, which is a shame as you clearly put a lot of hard work into what you write and show a lot of passion for the Blues.

Straight out pace for pace replacement to Jackson. Getting there slowly, but is it just me or are we desperately short up top? Iâm just not having Waring at all - solid squad player but heâs not getting 15 a year unless heâs in the north west counties !

Give it time, it's May, everyone is short and this National League season is still actually going on. Three forwards have left so I'm sure its a priority to sort out.

A lot of clubs for a 22 year old (weâll be his eighth), hopefully he can settle down with us. As for Luke Clark, Iâm delighted weâve signed him on again - can play in multiple positions across the pitch and in the games he did play last season he looked very assured, not just filling gaps in the team. He impressed me.

George is the most skilled player we have. Have you not watched or listened to the online interviews. That's according to the Chester players.
Go George.
