Now then.
With the advent of the new away kit being selected by us on the horizon, I was wondering what your thoughts may be on the possibility of a kit that bears the olds Seals crest instead of the current one?
Whether this be season long or a one off, I think I’d be a wise move to push more money into the coffers as well as embracing a piece of our history.
I know the league, as useless as they are, may have rules in place which forbid the changing of team insignias, if anyone can enlighten.
3, 2, 1 - discuss/fight!
Cheers, Jamie Rainford’s Cat.

Yeah, I doubt you can use different club badges on different kits. It wouldn't be great for branding either I don't think. We have our current crest and should use it consistently. The old one should only be used on any retro items.

I'd buy it. To be honest I think the wolf dilutes the seals branding of the club if anything. Seals definitely more identifiable as unique to ourselves than wolves in sport. Wolverhampton, Warrington etc...
COYS!

Disagree on the Seals badge. Never really resonated with me. I think it might be an age thing - I started supporting before the seals became a thing for example. I think the wolf is the historic brand of the Club linking back to the history of the City. Having said that I would buy a stuffed seal with a City scarf!

I agree with the wolf's head having a more historic connection with the City and club. The seal badge is ok for old replicas as a matter of fact but has no relation to the current club.
The whole seal thing was made up in the 70's from a competition and was pathetic then. Please resign it to the past never to be seen again. I'm sure most people who were around before it was created would agree. It means nothing to me and never did.
The current branding takes from the past and leads into the future. I am proud to wear a shirt with the wolf's head, even the old Chester City one.

Don’t think the suggestion was to rebrand and remove the current design, whether any individual dislikes the seals badge or finds it pathetic? It is part of OUR heritage, I was born in the very late sixties and this was the club badge that was on the first shirt I wore at junior school proud as punch that I was different from all the Liverpool and Everton shirts even back then. The suggestion was a one off , a nod to the past, it is after all what this club is. I don’t get the fact that people hate the seals thing, it’s still sung at the ground to this day it’s our heritage. Has anyone ever heard “come on you wolves” I wear the wolf of old and new close to my heart and I’ll wear the seals badge just as close. Our city, our community, our club.

Must say I was disappointed with the vote of the colour, considering the options available, I’d have liked something different - like last season’s. Yellow was always going to win, I suppose, but it’s boring and would possibly even have a negative impact on finances through shirt sales considering the amount of years we’ve had that colour.
Worse still, last season’s unique white and green affair only lasted a behind-closed-door-ended-early-null-and-void season and now we get boring yellow for TWO years.
Now seeing the final design options it isn’t that bad, as long as it isn’t option A. I’d be happy with either B (same as last seasons away design) or C (basically our home kit design).

Can’t believe how many people want the same plain yellow shirt year after year.

Yeah, I voted for orange in the previous vote as it would’ve been a fresh change, but that said I really like 3 out of the 4 designs for this yellow shirt. A is way too plain and boring for my liking, and is very similar to our away strips from 2011-12 plus 2015-16 if it had blue on the sleeve trim, so it’s a no from me. B looks very smart and classy, but we had a sash last season so a different design would be a nice change. Again, C also looks neat and tidy but I’m not too keen on the pattern on the back, although with that being said I’d still be happy if that wins. The shirt I have voted for though is option D, as it’s been absolutely ages since we last had a hooped shirt so that would be a lovely change, while yellow and black go together really well with that design in my opinion. Like I say, although I voted for D I’d still be really happy with B or C too which appear to be quite popular so far. There appears to be a split between those three on here and on social media, so it will be very interesting indeed to find out the end outcome. This is all just my opinion anyway and I am sure everybody else has their own preferences, so roll on Easter Monday I guess to see what the result is 🤞🟡⚫️.

Can’t believe how many people want the same plain yellow shirt year after year. Exactly my point, just to yell the most cringe chant ever when we get a corner.

Fan of our current Green & White one to be honest and wish we were keeping that instead.
Probably won't vote for any of these, will just go with what everyone else wants.

A - too plain B - a nod to last season C - very smart, my choice D - too much like a bee, will get the mickey taken away
But most of all can we not wear it when there is no colour clash. There's nothing worse than turning up at a ground where the home team play in red (like Ashton Utd) and the Blues turn out in yellow!

I've voted for C, seems like a nod to our mid-90's away kits.
I voted for orange in the original options, just for a change from what we've had recently.

How many people would actually buy a yellow shirt? Especially in an Extra Large. It's not exactly a flattering colour. I'm with most people on here, and not enamoured with the choice of Yellow.
I'd have stuck with the Green one from last year. Particularly as we didn't actually see us play a league game in it.
I'll probably vote D.
Actually I wondered whether we could have gone for a shirt similar to the Burnley away shirt. It's more of a creamy lemon number. Bit more subtle than a bright yellow.

I've never been big on the whole yellow thing either. It's a convenient colour for both the chant and avoiding kit clashes, but not much else.
I'd kind of like us to have something so different and horrible it becomes a cult kit, like pink and orange quarters or something!

I’d say a yellow away kit is part of the club’s heritage - not to the extent that we should wear it every season, but at least once every few years as a nod to the past and memories of it being worn for games such as Villa away in the League Cup semi-final, the win at Wrexham in 1978 and on numerous occasions during the McNally years.
But it’s nice also to have variety and I did like this season’s away kit.

Shame the stripes didn’t win - would have been a really smart kit that.

Result was as expected, the percentages too.
Stripes was the favourite amongst our group chat but at least it isn’t plain yellow.

Although I voted for option D, B is still a great shirt so I will settle for that any day. It’s a blessing in disguise in all honesty, because as gutting as it is that last season’s green shirt didn’t last long, the classy sash design will still be in place for this new shirt which is a nice consolation. In the event of a kit clash though, I’d love us to use the green kit as a 3rd choice so we can get more use out of it. Can’t wait to buy our new shirt when it becomes available, while I also look forward to the return of the ‘yeeeelllllllloooowwwws’ chant on the away terraces.
