Only 8 teams will go out at the group stage. Anyone want to have a go at predicting them? I will go for Wales, Finland, Russia, North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and, as a surprise flop, Portugal. Ha! Me and my lad were doing a predictor and we both thought Portugal would get to the final and possibly winners! Tough group, but they have a very decent team, if not massive squad depth.

I won't be right, I never am! I just think one team from that group will disappoint, and I don't think it will be France or Germany. Maybe in hope more than expectation as Portugal are hard to like. People forget they nearly went out in the group stage of the last Euros before goin on to win it, and I think Wales were the only team they beat in 90 minutes.

Portugal are second to France in terms of squad talent and quality.

Think it’ll all be on Goran Pandev. He could carry them like Stoichkov did Bulgaria at USA 94.

Turkey were shocking but Italy are on fire at the moment and they’ve continued it into these finals.
Glad my Fantasy Football captain got a goal and an assist - he certainly wasn’t immobile tonight.

Turkey did look a very limited side. I didn't fancy Wales to get out their group but they should beat Turkey on that evidence, and one win might be enough. A draw today would give them every chance.

if north Macedonia win it I will ask baby spice Emma bunton for a night in bed Liz Hurley for me Kind of the wrong pledge if you're saying it won't happen. You should really be asking someone like Anne Widdecombe!

This looks awful for Eriksen, poor guy

I feel for both these sides actually. Denmark understandably don't look focused, and it should be the best occasion in Finland's football history but they looked apologetic to have scored.
Still, it sounds a lot more positive about Eriksen that first feared.

Safe to say they wouldn’t have continued if he wasn’t stable and safe.

Didn't see the Wales game. Didn't sound like they played very well but a good point and they really should get out of that group now.
I enjoyed watching Italy, which is not something I've often said, but I do wonder if it's wise to be doing as much pressing as they were when 3-0 up. To win this competition you have to play seven games in month. On the other hand, Belgium barely broke sweat in that second half.

Very uncomfortable watching BBC yesterday kjaer what a human being showing a guy get CPR and his distraught wife not right Wasn’t strictly the BBC’s fault - same at every major tournament like this there’s a main broadcast provided by the organisers (UEFA, FIFA…) to all rights holders for each country around the world. Suspect it was being broadcast to every country. BBC, nor ITV, haven’t even got presenters or commentators in the host countries apart from England. They’re all watching the same feed we are.

Agree. Jonathan Pearce isn't my favourite commentator but I felt sorry for him yesterday, having to find something to say about these grim scenes.

Awful scenes and I got the same feeling watching the pictures as I did the night we played Tranmere and someone collapsed and sadly died on the terrace. Brings everything Into perspective and that it is only just a game. When they said the game would restart, I was amazed as some of those players looked really traumatised. I then expected both sides to come out and just knock the ball about for the remainder of the game and for it to be a non event draw, and after all that had happened I don’t think anyone Would have complained if they did.

For me football showed it's true values last night. Humanity, empathy, sympathy. I was rooting for Eriksen as was all of the rest of the football family. His partner crying by the pitch was painful to watch it really was. So many people helped him when he needed it. He good top level treatment from the doctors, medics, stadium staff, his team mates (top blokes) even both sets of fans. I am so glad that life won because it could have been so different. Put things into perspective really Football is not that important LIFE is. We have what we like to call 'banter' on DC with other fans (usually WXM) but last night should bring it all back into the realms of 'common sense' We are all football fans we just wear a different shirt. It also shows how life can be very fragile and it can all be over in an instant like flicking a switch...click! All of this said i'm glad Eriksen is on the mend. Looking at what happened i cannot see him playing football again after this nor do i think he should just too risky

Croatia 15/2 with some bookies today. I'm not one to listen to for betting tips but that seems crazy to me.

The Finns chanting his first namr and Danes his surname was touching as well. That's something only the Scandinavian and Nordic nations seem able to do - get a chant going with no real rhythm. It's like that Icelandic thunderclap thing, how do they all know when to do it?
