In fairness to the Goats, the abuse she's received is probably not confined to their supporters. There are plenty of insecure dicks on Twitter for whom talk of a woman getting any job in men's football will cause them to spout off.

I think any club would have a segment of their supporters that would react like that. 

My concern would be more about the limited knowledge of NL and L2 players. I always feel more comfortable having someone who has a proven knowledge of the available players. It's mainly recruitment at our level, rather than coaching.

I'd be surprised if Askew wasn't on the shortlist. Although I still suspect Macc had a bigger budget than they let on. There were rumours of a secret backer going around for a while. It seems there were also links with the old Northwich Vics around the time we played them.

If Casey Stoney was in the frame for the goats job and missed out on it because of a few Neanderthals on red passion or Twitter,surely with the current Hollywood cancel culture R.R's career wouldn't be so much Deadpool as dead duck. Somebody with his high profile should be making a stance against such sexism.

I know perfectly well he can be a WUM, and he's had posts removed and suspensions for it in the past. He can also make useful contributions though and has done nothing wrong on this thread. I can see them going for a complete unknown at this level or any other level in this country, i just have a feeling they (R and R) will influence the board it would be a "cool" idea to put an American in charge.
Their whole ethos about buying into "Wrecks 'em" is based around a TV audience and lets face it, its been done to death in this country now already.
Their audience is American and they will want to identify with something that is meaningful to them in order to watch it.

Either way i actually think its a disaster waiting to happen
They appoint an American and they have no idea about that level of football
or
They appoint a knowledgeable manager at that level that TV audiences wont have a clue what they are saying and will switch off in droves.

That's why i actually thought Casey Stoney (Although not American) with some experience backroom staff would have been the perfect fit for R and R.
