Almost at the first target now, with the total currently at £171. Amazing to get to that within a day! I did set the stretch target to include sponsoring a second player, but upon further consideration anything on top of what we raise for sponsorship could also be made as a donation to Boost the Budget? Just an idea, equally happy to sponsor the extra player if we reach the stretch target, ultimately it's all money in the same pot I suppose.

I agree let’s give Mike the groundsman some money as we did last year.

I agree with any extra going to the groundsman. Aside from the fact that he does a great job, investing in the pitch IS boosting the budget in effect as it results in fewer games being postponed (costing the club money) and ensures we get games played when others don't, avoiding a backlog of fixtures and tired players.

Done,
Yes I agree with the above posts in terms of the additional funds going towards Mike. Maybe its something the club could set up going forward from next season, just like the players are available to be sponsored we could sponsor Mike and Jimmy. With each sponsor amount going directly towards them for new equipment etc..

Happy for any extra to go to Baz to assist with his work. I know this was greatly appreciated last year, as he often works with a very small budget yet produces one of the best surfaces in non league.

Maybe deva-chat could get a mention on match days for sponsoring the Groundsman too. Would be good pr for deva-chat.

I’ve sponsored Jimmy for the past couple of years in Fiona’s name as they were good mates, also sponsored some equipment he needed but there was no budget for! donated some new equipment for Mike last month for the same reason but looking at the stadium in general I think maybe a general stadium fund might be an idea?

Totally agree the stadium does need some work doing on it so maybe a fund needs setting up for it

There are all sorts of different areas where the club could do with a bit of help, but donating in any way can't do any harm, so I think the best thing to do is just pick a cause and stick to it. Kev Roberts' shirt with any extra going to the groundsman sounds good to me.
There's a danger that if we all try to agree on the best possible cause, it ends up becoming an indecisive movement rather than an initiative with a clear objective, and doesn't raise as much as it should.

Pleased to announce this fundraiser finished on a total of £291. Thank you to everyone who contributed - it's really a great effort as I know many will have already contributed with season tickets, boost the budget, merchandise etc. I'll liaise with the club to see the sponsorship options available, and it should leave around £100 for Baz to use on the pitch.

Good effort that. The pitch looked great on Wednesday too. Looks like Baz has been working hard.

Limited aren’t we considering it’s the home kit sponsor that will likely be read out over the public address system.
Probably George Waring home then - one of our own, local lad, family of fans.
Thoughts?
