Forward Nyal Bell recently released by Kiddy joins Southport. Banbury finally make a signing as fullback Jak Hickman joins following his exit from King's Lynn. How on earth does he keep getting clubs at this level?!

How on earth does he keep getting clubs at this level?! I think it just shows the dearth of decent forwards. From what I can see he's got 8 goals over the past two seasons.

My dream forward line. Seriously, we will need to go big for big, in the opening game. It will be 90 minutes of ariel bombardment. Doubt they'll play both. Serious question though. Do we actually have a centre half that could cope with either of them aerially? Burke is probably the strongest, but he's inexperienced. We'll need Kenyon or Earl to drop right front of them and restrict their movement. They're pretty restricted in their mobility anyway!

The thought of both Rhead and Denton up against Burke and Williams does seem a bit daunting, but the key will be to stop the supply to them.

Hope Burke and Williams winde them both up to a limit where 1 lashes out and get's sent off
I remember Horan doing it to Denton back in 2010
Rhead is easy to winde up though

They won't be hard to mark in terms of movement in the box. As you say, cutting the supply and avoiding throws would be key.

So, looking at that list who do we think has done good business and who's going to struggle? Banbury seem to be relying on the team that got them promoted that might be a step too far. Brackley also seem to be keeping with the same squad which did well last term so I think they will be in the mix along with Fylde Ourselves. Buxton seem to have made some quality signings so they could be the surprise package who knows really but I'm hoping for a very exciting season

As it goes, seems like a couple of clubs have already lost players they signed in the summer! Our opponents on Saturday Alfreton have lost Scott Garner as he has decided to retire. Olumide Durojaiye has also decided to leave Hereford.

Vermiglio seems to be like a kid in sweet shop. They signed Zac Dearnley and Luke Burke on Tuesday as well and seem to have a new signing every week. They have got virtually a brand new squad, but it just doesn't seem to be working so far. Lost 3-0 to Boston last night.

Where is the money coming from? It certainly isn't their crowds. I make that 7 or 8 players they have signed since the season started, as well as all the ones in close season.

Three goals for ten clubs since 2018 is an even more damning record. Judging by his goal return at Halifax and what he showed in his very short time here there’s undoubtedly a talented player in there somewhere, so really not sure how his career’s ended up looking like it does. If you’re after another laugh, have a look at Adam Dawson’s Wikipedia page. Every few months I search his name for a bit of fun, and every time he’s at a different club.
