Break out soccer stars have made a statement on Jonno saying he has been admitted to hospital.
I’m sure I speak for most when I send best wishes for a very short stay and a quick total recovery gaffer. Worrying time for him and his family.

Obviously worrying, but Jonno looks a fit, young-ish bloke, and presumably has had at least one jab, so hopefully should recover well.
Best wishes for a swift recovery.

Fit, healthy, late 30’s, presumably jabbed yet admitted to hospital.
Just goes to show doesn’t it? Then you’ve got dickheads plastering “WAKE UP” all over town.
Hope he recovers quickly and well.

I did worry that the tone of the club's message last week suggested it was a bit more serious than just a positive test. All the best Jonno, stay strong!

Worrying that that this is the second time AJ has contracted Covid within nine months. Hopefully, if he has been admitted to hospital it's just as a precaution.

Just a quick update on Jonno…Bern has tonight revealed that he was rushed into hospital and put on a ventilator on Saturday night. His kidneys failed so he has been diagnosed with Covid-pneumonia (same as Steve Cotterill). Bern said though that Jonno’s now on the mend so hopefully he’ll be in the dugout very soon. For now though we have to keep backing Bern and our squad regardless of how we perform, as goodness knows how it’s affecting us. Get well soon Jonno, we’re all behind you 💙!

Good to hear he is hopefully getting better but you’ve got to fear that the road to comeback from kidney failure and having to be hooked to a ventilator will be a very very long one.
Also a little ironic that this news has come from a packed and maskless indoor event. I did hear of one or two fans who took one look, grabbed their ST’s and scarpered, understandable given the current situation. Appreciate, though, that this event has previously been a very successful evening for the club and FEWG to shift the STs en masse, less pressure for the club to then be trying to get through them closer to the season.
Hope to see Jonno, if not soon, then when he is fit enough to return.

Hope to see Jonno, if not soon, then when he is fit enough to return. We went last night to collect our cards, pass and season tickets and most were wearing masks. The choice of the individual was there. We got straight off because there wasn't two seats available together to sit. It was a very popular event that was well managed and safe.

Going slightly off topic, i hate this get out that companies, shops, places etc have by stating its the choice of the individual to wear a mask or not.
Yes it would be if that individual were the one at risk, but its the other way around. It makes people think its their choice to take a risk to themselves or not. I would much prefer it if these signs and instructions said: Please respect other peoples choices not to be infected and wear a face covering if you are able to.
We might see infection rates falling and pressure on hospitals going the same way.
All the very best to Johnno in making a full and speedy recovery.

I fully agree with this - it is a very mixed message on masks - we have been told it is to prevent us from spreading the virus, with some small protection against us actually contracting, but the emphasis then to change to its your choice whether to wear one makes little sense. living in the dark side (Wales!) masks are still currently required, but I have to say having been out and about a little bit around Chester this week the vast majority of the public still seem to be wearing masks in shops. Its a shame though that I have also read about two incidents in North Wales where people from England refuse to wear a mask as "it doesn't apply to them as they are not required in England" this has lead to the closure of an RSPCA shop as the volunteers have been so badly abused!!

Agree with you both that some subtle and more careful choices of language could have guided people to better behaviour and decision making throughout this pandemic. Myself, I think popularising the term "social distancing" was a big mistake. The last thing we needed as the pandemic started was a new and unfamiliar term flying about, especially one that sounded as frightening and isolating as that. It's never been more important for us to socialise. The WHO recommended the more accurate "physical distancing" but was completely ignored.
It's heartbreaking to hear of an RSPCA shop closing due to volunteers being abused. Who gets that worked up about rules in a charity shop? That and the story my cousin told me about being heckled by anti-vaxxers as she was going for her jab make me wonder what the hell is wrong with some people. Fortunately, the pandemic has brought out an exaggerated form of everyone, so while the arseholes have become even bigger arseholes, there are many examples of incredible kindness and compassion which I've taken a lot of comfort from.

This goes to show you never know how Covid is going to hit you. I have lost 5 friends to it and many with long Covid who are suffering daily.
The infection rates are not a true reflection as had the schools still be in would see a dramatic rise as we were seeing. Luckily for the government the school's have broken up when they did, so they have escaped egg on the face at this current moment in time.
My mask is here for the foreseeable, i normally 3-4 chest infections in a year. Not had one single one since this all started.
Sounds like Jonno is on the mend, hope the poor bloke makes a full recovery .
Get Well soon Jonno, top bloke

AJ - “I was ill the first time, bed ridden and a bit fluey but it wasn’t even ten per cent of how I felt this time. In my mind it was, ‘oh, well I’ve had it once’. But to get it the way I have just shows not only can you get it again, but you can get it to the point where it could kill you. I am not trying to exaggerate the point, but I know where I was with this. Any advice I would give to people is go and get the jab.” www.cheshire-live.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/anthony-johnson-chester-fc-covid-21277325
