I know people are questioning their tactics or lack of them. Whatever plan they are thinking is surely not working so far this season. Perhaps it's time to go back to basics. Start by fielding a team with players in their recognised positions. Play your right back at right back not left back. Don't play centre half's at full back. We have a left back playing further forward, ok when we need to push on but defending comes first, playing proper full backs, Roberts and Askew, should cut down on crosses coupled with regular centre half's leading to less goals conceded hopefully. We know we've got a good midfield but need to deploy a big ball winner to break up play to complement Weeks and Glendon. We've also got quick wingers so get the ball out to them quicker and run at defences. As far as the strikers go if they get the service from the supporting players then they will score.
Most of the fan base can see this so I say to the management be radical and give it a go. It can't be any worse than what we've seen so far!

Football is a simple game made complicated by its proponents.

I worry that they are no longer fully focused or committed to Chester FC.The hybrid model is dead and buried, we are part time and will not provide a pathway for them to full time employment. They have the tie up with the former coach turned so called agent from N Wales. They have developed their own Training Company. No blame there from me as they want to earn a decent living. The thing that concerned me in the recruitment drive was their admission that their book of names was empty. It should be full after several years at this level. The trials event was a sound idea but only ever likely to identify one or two prospects who need development. For too long we have relied in the main on their former associates who by and large have been average at best. All respect to Curzon Ashton who have made a blinding start to their campaign, but how many cast offs of theirs have we got playing for us now. Their recruitment is starting to look very McCarthy like. You wonder whether they have lost some of the dressing room, they have certainly lost a big chunk of the fan base. Can’t see this ending happily which is a shame as I really like them as open characters. Hope they prove me wrong. I share your concerns. Bern's post match interview was extremely negative in attitude despite some of the phrases he used. Talking about play-offs after that performance was plain ridiculous and 'best squad' since they were managers....no Asante, Jackson...do me a favour. To me, he seems resigned to some fate. Maybe they have lost interest, because they have certainly lost focus. I would have much prefer him come out and say, look we've had a poor start, me and Jonno have to take our share of the blame, but we'll work things out with this squad and get an improvement soon etc etc...But I think he came across as deluded and a bit silly. For me we simply have to get by Darlo, otherwise we all have to move on to another chapter.

I don't think our club can afford scouts to look for suitable players for the management and that doesn't help the management
