Assuming even we can't manage to get ourselves relegated, therefore no real importance to the match + next to nobody up from Hertfordshire, the only real reason to roll up next Saturday is for the strange idea that we might, just might, get entertained watching some footy
Given the latter is an alien concept at the moment, I'd be very surprised if there's more than 1500 hardy souls at the Deva, of which I'll be one
Am I being optimistic?

Sad to say but I think you probably are. If I remember correctly our last game in the conference in 2001 was less than a 1000?

Last home game in 2000/01 was against Rushden & Diamonds who had pretty much sewn the league up and they brought a large following with them. Following season we had Stevenage, think there was around 1400 for that one. Missed a cracker aswell, won 5-1 if I remember rightly scoring 4 goals in 10 second half minutes.

Having said that though, we had a fixture backlog in 2000/01 and we played Scarborough on a Thursday night. About 900 there I think (including a certain Terry Smith.......)

Last 2 seasons we have great games on the final day, 4-2 vs Gateshead and 5-3 vs Nuneaton so hopefully we can get another entertaining win.

The match is a complete side-dish for our group's traditional end of season piss-up, starting in the BluesBar and ending in Cruise. What a truly shambolic season we'll be celebrating...

My mistake but we had two attendances before the last game of 800 against Kingstonian and Scarborough I think.

The club could still go down so it should be billed as a relegation battle and a huge promotion drive to get over three thousand in attendance. Maybe a tenner for the Harry Mac as an apology for the pathetic performances in 2017.

We'll get a decent attendance, always do last game of season. It's party time

The players may actually try abit harder next Saturday because it's the awards night that night too. Can you imagine the atmosphere if they lose yet another home match.
Don't forget the kickoff is 12:15pm too!
The club should do a reduced entry for this game or the attendance will be terrible.

Why can't we just pay a tenner on the turnstile?

I wonder if Cleggy will still feel the need to tell us not to go on the pitch at the end! I'm sure the excitement will be unbearable!

I wonder if Cleggy will still feel the need to tell us not to go on the pitch at the end! I'm sure the excitement will be unbearable! After the game, everyone will be dashing home to get changed into their best bib and tucker, and then get back for the clubs awards night. There are to be two special awards this year, voted for and sponsored by Jon. The first is for the clubs Bouncy Castle champion, which naturally goes to Kane, no surprise there, as it is his Castle anyway; and a special award is going to Wade, bless him, who collected more Harry Potter cards than anyone else in the club, Cleggy just missed out on that one.

The awards evening should be cancelled and everyone refunded.

The awards evening should be cancelled and everyone refunded. What about Jons special awards to Kane and Wade, bless him, they will be devastated ?. Jon is also expecting a Trump style vote of special thanks from Mark for reaching his challenging target, the poor lads will be inconsolable if the evening is cancelled. Jon has hired a special Batman costume for the event, have a heart!!.

I emailed the clubs commercial email address weeks ago to enquire whether the awards night was sold out because I was thinking of going, but never got a reply.

Aiming to bring my young lad as part of his football indoctrination, so please no silly red card protests or foul mouthed rants.
Hopefully we will finally get a win and he'll think watching Chester is a good thing.
I know I live on cloud cuckoo land but let's be honest don't we all supporting this club ⚽️😀

The club need nothing like protests in a community environment, especially with young kids like yours attending matches. I hope he enjoys his day out 👍.
