Of all the years, this is certainly one when we could do with a half decent Cup run. Hopeful our improvement continues over the next fortnight and we dig a result out. Oh, for a couple of "easy" draws Then again, this is Chester we're talking about Think positive folks

What a dire draw. A long trip up to the dreaded North East against a Darlington side who are pointless, so that’s a defeat nailed on then 😩. Nothing we can do about it now though so we’ll just have to live with it and hope our cup and North East fortunes will change!

We can't complain. We've had some pretty easy fa cup draws recently. Dunstan, Marine.

We can't complain. We've had some pretty easy fa cup draws recently. Dunstan, Marine. City of Liverpool, Kiddy away and Worksop away too interspersed with games in the same division like Alty, Spennymoor and now Darlington. I would suggest over the last 4-5 years we’ve not had too many dodgy draws.

Darlo aren't that great. Bit of positivity needed or we might as well be out already.

This has got 3 - 0 to the mighty mighty Seals written all over it.

Think replays have been reintroduced this season, which may be to our advantage. If it ends in a draw there I’d certainly back us to beat them in midweek at the Deva. Not the draw we would have wanted but I don’t think it’s quite as bad as some have made out. Unlike elsewhere in the North-East, we’ve won there under Bern and Jonno so I’d far rather visit them than Gateshead.

We have nothing to lose really. Such a poor cup side it doesn’t matter who we draw as it’s never easy. At least playing Darlo the boys shouldn’t be feeling complacent and will put in a good battling performance. 1-0 to the Blues with Waring battering down the defensive line.

Didn't even realise Darlo are bottom of the league. Only played three games but they've lost them all.
If you could hand-pick your draw, you wouldn't have picked this one, but Jesus, this "we're doomed" and "we're cursed" attitude is really not conducive to getting the long overdue FA Cup run we really need. We were always likely to get a trip to the North East considering the number of clubs up that way in the draw, so let's roll up our sleeves and get on with it, eh?

Playing Covid catch up, number of players tested positive days before the start of the season so their squad had to self isolate for 10 days. Their first two fixtures were postponed and when the ten days were up they played 3 in seven days. Sound familiar? Added to which, a fair number of their better players jumped ship in the summer, so either their squad needs more time to gel or they were just poor replacements. The manager admits his job is on the line and said he is trying to bring in some 'experienced' players in the next week or so. Looking at their next few matches it's possible that the result of this cup tie may well decide Armstrong's fate. www.chesterfc.com/2021/09/07/fa-cup-date-confirmed-for-darlington-a/

The BBC are showing Sutton Common Rovers v Jersey Bulls this weekend. Seems a poor choice to me. I get there's an intrigue factor about a team from Jersey being in it, but they've been in it three rounds already and I've never heard of the team they're playing. I thought they would go with Lymington v Hereford or the Sikh team Sporting Khalsa v Kidderminster.

Didn't know that, just noticed on the latest BBC scores. Just what we didn't need for Saturday, a confidence boosting unexpected away win.

Regardless of this weekend's result, we all need to stick together and support what we have, as many others have stated. If we beat Darlington, it could really alter the negative momentum we have built up so far and traject us into a more positive direction. It only takes a crunching tackle or a solid clearance header to change the momentum of a game...therefore, the same can apply to our squad's performance, results and momentum. UTFS.

Dunstan Marine, Royston, Southport replay are just some of the lowlights. Need the cup money this year otherwise it will be the fans who will have to make up the losses once again.
