So shall we do that with every player who has played for us?? You knew this was going to happen though this club has become very predictable. Why are you getting angry about it? The lad came through our youth system and played first team for a few seasons, had just returned and was most likely to sign for us this season. He suffered a bad injury playing for us, and even though technically he was not contracted to play for us do you not think it's the ethically right thing to do? He isn't just anyone who used to play for us, he got injured playing for us and his parent team seemingly couldn't give a shit. Chester FC is where his footballing home has always been, so I'm glad the club are able to give him the opportunity to use our medical team to assist his recovery. You don't have to put your hand in your pocket for his collection, but surely you can't begrudge the club helping a young lad out. As someone said above, I'm glad we have a reputation as fans for helping out with things like this, its a classy thing to do. I'd rather that, than be a Curzon who didn't want anything to do with helping him out. Spot on. đđ»

we did a fundraiser for matty hughes who, whilst he was our player, certainly had not played as many times as matty and did not come through our youth system

Didnât we also do something similar for Paddy Lacey who thanked us by promptly skipping training and matches for his other career and then slagged off the club (and by extension the fans) after he left?

Slagged off the manager (Watson), don't remember him slagging off the club. Don't think he was the brightest but he always seemed very complimentary about the club to me.

Thatâs a blatant stirring lie. He never slagged the club off. Canât help but stir can you? Itâs clear you have a vendetta against him. Why not raise some funds for the club by offering a charity boxing match against Paddy?

Think we're making more of this than is necessary. His contract was up Curzon, and seemingly we've agreed to sign him and support his recovery. Nobody is being "bastards" or excessively charitable, everyone is just acting in their own respective interests. He was told he was having the option on his contract taken up, as soon as he was injured they dropped him like a stone and offered no medical support at all. Seems like the act of fairly heartless bastards to me to be honest? I'm glad it's a predictable response from our club to be honest. I'd much rather support a club that cares than one that doesn't.

As a club, we do this sort of thing so well. First Georgeâs mask, then Paddyâs fundraiser and now this. A real summer of positives so far off the field.

Thanks to all who have donated ÂŁ3000. Matty is Chester, a good player and a great lad. I am wondering what to do to help raise a further ÂŁ1000 to meet the target? Walk around the ground 24 times?

Great effort by the 141 who have donated in these challenging times to get this over the 3,000 mark but seems to have stalled. Maybe a few have been on holiday, or not got round to chipping in yet so just bumping up. Target is another 1000. I think the collection before the first home game, both outside the ground and in the bar is a must and hope this is being arranged.

Blues Bar were doing a raffle, to be drawn on the 26th, which was in aid of the fund.
