Great to have him signed on. Has the potential to go onto bigger things in terms of the football pyramid. Shame it wasn't a 2yr deal.
Wonder if Frank thinks it's a good signing?

Grow up with bringing Frank in to it will ya fed up of you and others arguing on here I don’t think it was about his ability, more the absolute assassination of Louis Gray followed by a Stanway fan club after 2-3 games. Think we’re all over it now and 99% on here agree we needed to tie down Stanway.

Not seen Stanway play myself but looking forward to seeing him and the other youngsters develop next season. Think we need an experienced centre half now to organize the defense.

Really pleased with this. The lad dominates his area and clearly has the potential to play higher.

Best keeper we've had in years much better then that fraud we had in goal last season.

Absolute fantastic news. I’m sure he will work hard to make the number one spot his own. Remember Wyll if you want something enough you can achieve it with hard work.

Very pleased for Wyll, he has the opportunity to really make a future for himself if he works hard and stays focused.

Great news that we've got him signed up for another season, be interesting to see if we bring in a 2nd goalkeeper?
Ideally I would bring in a number 2 that is nearing retirement but can still play if needs be and act as a goalkeeper coach for Wyll. Very much like Joe Murphy at Tranmere.

So, no keeper on the bench as the other lad is out on loan?

Yes the goalkeeping setup means the season-long loan from the Premier League club is likely going to “have” to be first choice otherwise we wouldn’t have got him. So it makes sense for Stanway to continue his development out on loan, as Smith is doing.

So, no keeper on the bench as the other lad is out on loan? Sub keepers are a luxury at this level as what chance are they going to be used in a game? Also for themselves they need to be playing regular games. As long as we have a recall clause it’s fine.

A full season in an Evostik side will bring him on. He only played something like 15 games(?) before he came to us. Another 40 and we'll have an improved keeper for next season. Hopefully.

So, no keeper on the bench as the other lad is out on loan? Apparently for an outfield player Kenyon is well above average between the sticks and has a bit of a reputation for it with Morecambe fans. If there is an emergency during a game it's him you will see go in there.

Sheffield United, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield, Sunderland, and Wigan are admirers of Chester goalkeeper Wyll Stanway. The 21 year old is the brother of Georgia Stanway, who was part of the England squad which won the Women's 2022 Euros.

This is why we need to send him out on loan. If those clubs are “watching” him they’re not seeing much at the moment!

Shame he’s only on a 1 year contract Think that’s the same problem we’d have with Willoughby if he bangs in a few, would go for peanuts in Jan on a 1 year say. Would still like a decent fee for Stanway mind.
