Just like it's easy to get into a habit of winning games and not keeping clean sheets, as we did in the first half of the season, it's easy to get into the habit of losing every week and shipping goals.
Four points from a possible 18 and 14 goals conceded in those six league games now.

On the underground back home so this will be a bit raw. We were unbelievable today, so much effort so much heart. Red was a red but we played so well, really feels like I've been punched in the stomach, I took a friend with me today who isn't a chester fan and he's fallen in love with this team due to the commitment and grit shown. If we play like that for the rest of the season we will be there or thereabouts. Durrell, Shaw and George particularly impressive

As for the Goats, that whole "Rooney mind the gap" Wagner crap at Christmas has been a massive jinx - they've pretty much been unbeaten since and we have only won once. They won't mind the Rooney contract issue if he keeps coming off the bench to fire them into the play-offs, whilst our tremendous first half of the season will keep us away from the drop. Mind the gap, eh?

That 50 point target suddenly looks a long way off

We can compete with anyone, but it just hurts that you lose to a goal very late when you play well. Looking forward to Gateshead next week.

Gutting result!! watching Macca's post match interview on Facebook has cheered me up though. Speaks so much sense even in post match interviews. He even squeezed in a dig at how if we were 2nd in the league we would have 4000 at the Deva 👏👏. In Macca we trust ✊

Why is our defence conceding so many goals, that is 16 I think in the last 7 games. Is it because Hudson has replaced Hughes? We always seem to concede when Hudson plays. In order to keep momentum and the feel good factor the squad should have been strengthened. What was the point of signing Marsh and with a small budget, we're not in a position to carry injured players for a whole season such as Killock. Stop being so nice remember it is a business we are running, if these two had been released we could have strengthened the squad.

Marsh is literally on peanuts here, getting rid of him would not free up any room in the budget.
Killock deserves time to get himself fit properly. When he is fit and focussed he is a good player as we saw during his loan spell.
The only way we are going to be able to strengthen is if we suddenly get an extra 2,000 fans in through the door.

Second ban for Hunt . . . how many games? 2 I think (1 for handling on line & 1 for being sent off before) I concur.

Gutted about the result. No blame for Hunt though, he's been much better this season and it sounds like it was just one of those automatic reaction things, could have been worth it if 2nd penalty was saved.
Pessimistic about Gateshead away, when was the last time we got something there?

Shipping goals has coincided with Sam Hughes omission (injury or otherwise from the team ) we are also too soft in midfield

Marsh has to be on a living wage, unless he has got some other income, how do you know that he is on peanuts? Killock was also injured most of last season. I've got nothing against the lad and wish him all the best, but a club of our limited resources has to draw the line somewhere, deep down JM must be frustrated.

Dominated first half, but stood off them at 2 - 1. Class one handed push round the post by Hunt. Ref had no choice then, with there tail in the air they came at us. Disappointed to lose but that's football😭

Wrexham will probably think they're in with a shout of the playoffs now after beating a few teams in the relegation zone. I still think we will finish about them though, but we've got to shore up at the back. No, not planning for the play offs this season.

Let's not get carried away, yes we conceded 3 goals, but we were winning with 5 mins left to go and only lost cos they got a penalty and we were down to 10.
They are second in the league ffs

I think the only negative comments are coming from people who didn't go, so if they say we were unlucky then that's good enough for me

looking like our game vs barrow will be moved they are winning in the fa trophy And our away game at Lincoln looks likely to be moved. I would be really gutted if so. Why can't they just make it a mid-week competition.

Frustrating end to a brilliant performance from the Blues that, thank you for tuning in we'll be back on air for the early kick off on Saturday! On the media side of things, I have enjoyed the match in a minute videos you have posted at HT & FT today. Last few weeks has seen the media side of things get a lot better. What with yesterday's Q&A and increased "access all areas" videos around the club it's really starting to take shape again. Keep up the good work.

A bit of realisation is needed considering not only the budget but the size of the squad. It sounds like another great performance but we're playing the better teams at the moment but as we've seen so far this season the guys dig in and are capable of grinding out results.

Stop being so nice remember it is a business we are running, if these two had been released we could have strengthened the squad. Since Sam was relieved of his partnership with Ryan Astles for the Lincoln game we've concede 25 goals in 14 league games. In the previous 9 games with Sam partnering Ryan we concede 1 at York. We're more likely to concede if Hudson partners Astles. We weren't very good in the first 8 games either (15 conceded in 8) when Sam wasn't being picked at all. Sam is here for the rest of the season so he must partner Ryan otherwise we'll continue concede heavily.
