Also, he then glamourises MK Dons who are the biggest tin-potters around. I'm pretty sick of being dumped out of cups by so called "pub teams" so let's hope the attitude on the pitch is better than this. I wouldn’t call that glamorising MK, just the fact their stadium would be a good day out. And if their manager needs to read this forum to motivate his side then he needs to have a think about what he’s doing. Come on lads let’s put 5 or 6 up this social club XI ! Going there once was enough, place is an empty soulless bowl at the best of times. Do have the comfiest seats I've ever experienced in a football ground in fairness though.

This is going to be a tough game, as Cal said the gap between leagues is relatively small. Hoping for any kind of a win

Respect, it’s something that’s sadly missing in football for some reason we have to hate players and fans of other clubs just because they have the nerve to be playing against us. Visiting goalkeepers used to get a good reception from the home end when he took his place in goal but now he is called a wanker and other such insults, I think it shows class to show some respect to other clubs unless they give you a reason not too. What people seem to ignore is that if they'd been born, or grown up, in a different town or city, they would support a different team. Maybe the team we are playing against. Most of the disrespect is down to ignorance.

Recognise a couple of names if their starting XI. Gavin Rothery is ex Leeds and Lloyd Allison who was a GK for Port Vale but were talking about 15 years ago

Disgrace of a 45 minutes that. We need to wake up or we’re going out again.
That Tyrer save has kept us in it.
Some pathetic performances out there. Devine and McHugh are essentially professional players and at the very least they should out run their 4 in midfield.
That display shows how much we miss Weeks and Glendon.

Awful. This isn’t working. Kenyon is a waste of a player, his legs are gone. Get Matty back in. These short corners are a waste of time and players. Get the ball down on the ground, play it around, tire them out and keep it to feet. Hall and Willoughby stand a chance then.

We've been a 2nd half team lately so hopefully we'll improve. We need to.

Long balls and short corners are not working. I feel like half the game has been us booting it out, then the inevitable 3 minutes for the goal kick

Take the 2-0 and the 3k prize money and run as we were bloody awful.
Stephenson won’t be on the bench much longer surely? Don’t know if anyone noticed but he didn’t even celebrate the 1st goal he looked that pissed off. Should be one of the first names on team sheet.
Another home tie next please.
Ps - what was that Harry Mac kiosk queue about?

Get in there. Another home draw next please, strange that we only start playing in the second half but today, same as Tuesday, we kept it tight enough first half at least

A win is a win and we're in the next round
Noticed Telford and Spennymoor got knocked out against Lower League opposition.

The main thing about the cup is to win and get through in the early tricky rounds building up some cash on the way to hopefully a bit of glory.

All about the win. Telford and Spennymoor both had shockers today and we never. First half we insisted in trying to play balls over the top, despite the wind carrying everything away. 2nd half that worked in our favour. Stephenson was excellent when he came on, gave us a bit of quality. Once again the manager has changed the outcome with a sub.
Couple of talking points, that save from Tyrer was Premier League standard, and if that free kick had been scored against us rioting would have ensued. The 2nd goal stopped the final 10 minute heart attacks, but to be fair Pontefract had tired before that.
Onwards into the next round following a game we would have lost last season. 3 wins and a draw from the last 4 with a patched up squad is a massive positive.

Easy to forget that 5 players we signed as starters were sat in the stand today. Glendon, Weeks, Earl (who is now off crutches), Thomas and Edwards.

You can say the manager made a good sub in Daz, but in reality he should have started so it’s catch 22 of sorts. An awful game but as we’ve said, take the money and head into the next round. Could the 3.5k prize money get us more kiosks 😂😂😂
