Nothing about that is good news It is if you live in Dorset. Gate receipts for our club more important that a few people watching it down south, I’m afraid.

At the end of the day we're all customers so better to please everyone than only some. What about come winter when the older supporters won't want to go to the Deva in the cold?
Get your heads out of the sand and into the new age

We live and die by gate receipts as our main source of income - giving people an option not to attend and watch from home may take away our casuals and fence sitters.
We also don’t want any detriment to our home atmosphere, which is perhaps testament to our home record too.
I was an exile for 7 years and I couldn’t imagine sat at home watching a stream on my laptop, when with a bit of effort I’d still make 8-10 homes a year.
As for the cold weather - does it really get that cold in the UK to not wrap up and go to a game?
Let’s focus on getting 2k + in every game rather than streaming !!

Hard to know how it will go until we try it. As a traditionalist I'm not keen, but I actually think it probably won't affect attendances that much. Personally, if I'm not at a game, it's usually because I'm either doing something else or am skint, so I can't imagine I would often choose to stream a game ahead of going. It also might mean we make more from away fans.

@wrexham_AFC
Further to the announcement last Friday (September 16) by the National League, in respect of the ambition to deliver a centralised streaming solution in the second half of the 2022/23 season, the Club asked several questions following receipt of this information.
That announcement lacked specific detail and the Club have been informed that we will have to wait until a project update is issued to all Clubs, when the finite details are agreed, to receive the answers.
The most important detail outstanding is when in the second half of the season clubs will be able to stream games.
The National League have, however, confirmed that it was their Board in partnership with BT who own the rights, that rejected Wrexham’s application to stream games immediately, while the centralised streaming solution is delivered.
The reason given for this decision was that they felt it appropriate for the League and for the benefit of all Clubs that streaming should not be permitted until the centralised streaming solution was available to all Clubs, but offered no rationale for why this decision was made.
A Club spokesperson said: “The Club has made it clear that it would donate any profit made from the streaming of games to the National League for them to distribute, as our desire is to grow our fanbase on the back of our documentary, Welcome to Wrexham, not financial gain.
“While growing the fanbase for Wrexham is clearly our motivation, the National League & the Clubs in the competition would also benefit from the positive exposure that has been created for the National League and should capitalise on this.
“Now the decision to stream games has been made, this makes the decision to prevent the Club streaming our home games in the interim period even more confusing. The streaming solution already in place at Wrexham and other Clubs in the EFL Digital network, is likely to be at least equivalent in terms of stream quality and security, of any centralised streaming solution that will be delivered.
“With no date for the commencement of the centralised streaming solution, the Club once again appeals to the Board of the National League and BT, to reconsider the decision not to allow any Club to stream games home games or clearly explain the reasons why our application has been rejected.
“We believe The National League should be promoting the growth of its competition & their individual Clubs, not making decisions that limits this potential which is clearly contrary to its objectives.”

I live in the NE. Got to 1 home game 4 away games last season. I’d watch them all - as I did during Covid, when I watched more games home and away than I ever did when I lived in Chester.

Worst wind up of all time? Got to be. Yes, like the weirdo German wum on the old board. Anyone going to confess to that? It is from a Greek IP, although I know you can use VPNs and stuff. I'd rather take it seriously and risk making a fool of myself than scare off someone who is genuinely interested in the club. Maybe he really hates Ryan Reynolds?

Listen guys. I am talking very serious. I have started to taking control of Chester in 90s at football manager. And i still take control of Chester. A few days ago i bought souvenirs from the boutique. I would love one day to come at Chester to watch a game, i hope so. When i will have the scarfs etc i can take a photo with the Greek national flag both, so you can believe me. I don't want to provocate anyone. Thank to internet i can take a look of the results of the team and watch the highlights at you tube. Best regards guys from Greece. I hope today we can win against Hanley Town and i think we play against Oldham if we take the win.
I wanted to buy the jersey home kit but it is sold out.
Also i have to say that i am big fan of Panathinaikos so. I don't know how to convince you guys, really. I don't use a VPN. and something to believe me, I HATE WREXHAM

National League Announces Launch Of Streaming Platform
Dec 2, 2022
'The National League Board is pleased to be in a position to provide a streaming update following a Board meeting on Wednesday 30 November.
The National League Board recently announced its intention to pursue the implementation of a streaming platform in the second half of the current season.
A huge amount of work has been ongoing behind-the-scenes with the League now in a position to announce a soft launch of the streaming platform on Saturday 10 December with a full launch two weeks later.
The first phase of the launch will see streaming introduced for National Division clubs only while the League works with North and South clubs running pilot events in the second half of the season to ensure logistically it can be delivered for North and South Divisions for the 2023/24 season.
The National League would again like to reiterate its commitment to providing a quality streaming platform that benefits all 72 Member Clubs. Thanks must go to BT Sport and title sponsors Vanarama for their continued support.
Further updates around pricing and sign-up activity will be announced shortly.'

I don't expect it to affect the attendance of home fans much, I think the reduction will be in the number of away fans you will get at games, so could make for even more mute atmospheres at games. Personally, I will still travel from Dorset to anything within a 3 hour drive each way, I don't think it would change my attendance to games, but at least I will get to stream the ones that I wouldn't be at anyway, which in my case includes most of the home matches.

Currently only games played outside the Saturday afternoon blackout period can be live streamed domestically. The blackout will likely be ditched at some point in the not-too-distant future. The '25% distribution across the 72 clubs' will be allocated by way of a 70 (NL)/30 (NLN/S) split. There has apparently been no consultation between the NL and its member clubs over this decision.

National League general manager Mark Ives denies that pressure from Hollywood was in any way connected to the league's conversion to streaming but adds -
"Of course, Wrexham have a large reach and look, fantastic club, fantastic for the league, fantastic support. What Ryan and Rob are bringing to the club is great, er, and of course they would have wanted to go, erm, earlier than perhaps we have. What it has done of course, is heightened the publicity around it, and you know what? I hope it'll be a good thing".

Any charge for streaming at our level should cost more than it does to actually attend the match itself. This way it still encourages people in the area to attend games rather than sit at home and watch it on some live stream.
Also if it ever did come down as far as this league, I'd like to think the money being taken by the NL will be used to make sure every club is provided with professional equipment to produce a first class stream worthy of the money paid to watch it, as some of those on offer during the covid times were awful
