Rubbish...Read Highways Agency website M56 closures. What an unnecessarily argumentative tone. Yet unsurprising. Stop it Mancot....it was a rubbish statement...to go via Liverpool from Chester ? Why? The M56 is going to be closed eastbound from j7 to Manchester Airport on Saturday but only from 9pm Saturday night? Am I wrong ? No need to panic.

I don't understand why you need to speak to people like this over the most mundane of issues. It's very strange behaviour. Have a rest for 48 hours while you think about it.

I was only asking as I'm taking a car load and don't want to mess up the journey It was a perfectly reasonable question and a perfectly sensible place to ask it. Unfortunately our friend here has a bit of a tendency to flip over absolutely nothing and then tell everyone else to calm down and stop panicking. I've never forgotten him berating me for starting a thread to monitor relegation and promotion issues in the divisions around us and saying this was pointless as we'll know who has been promoted next week anyway!

His behaviour does somewhat contradict his DC name considering he's called "happyclapper". Perhaps "angrybugger" would be more fitting?

Talking of car journeys has anyone looked at the best places to park?

Talking of car journeys has anyone looked at the best places to park? Seem to recall seeing something about a local school car park for £5. Edit: it’s the hospital, not a local school. £5.

Talking of car journeys has anyone looked at the best places to park? According to someone on their message board they have a large car park at the ground and if that is full use the B&Q car park close by.

Look to have sold some over night in the upper tier.
I think 1700 will be there or thereabouts which is far exceeding my initial prediction.
Any ideas on the following: What tram/tram stop in Manchester do we need to jump on? Whats the away fans pub? It's going to be rammed!

For those of you travelling by train, the line is closed this weekend between Warrington BQ and Manchester.
Trains are running on this route (Transport for Wales) as far as Warrington an then it is replacement buses. Northern are running buses from Chester as well, although services via Delamere to Manchester are unaffected.
If going via Liverpool then the line is also closed in the Rainhill area so you cannot get to Manchester via Newton-Le-Willows on this route without a long bus journey. You could travel via St Helens to Wigan NW and then get a Manchester train from either Wigan NW or Wigan Wallgate.
Alternatively the quickest route to Manchester is maybe via Crewe.

If going on the train from Chester then going via Crewe is surely the quickest and easiest. A couple of quid more expensive on a return.

For the sake of ten minutes the rattler is less faff as it’s direct and no changes/waiting around. £14 return too.

Also means if there’s a missed train or delays, they still have loads of options going Manchester. From there it’s the Westwood tram stop and in we go.

It's not gonna be the early start I was hoping for.

Yeah will be aiming for the 10.02 direct.
Still don’t know how I’m getting back yet, need to be at a meal in Deeside by 7.30pm and the trains are not going to get me there in time.
