The reality is From 2000 gates we should be competing at the top of this league. We are not granted nice cup away day to come . Yes we’ve been unlucky with injuries but our league position mirrors last season. Great stuff happening off the field but on it which is what counts is bordering on depressing. This league is there for the taking and is a shocking level of football Feel a bit deflated tonight Yesterday's goal was something of a fluke and it was frustrating to lose. Overall, I think Calum will do well, and his communication with the fanbase is the best we've experienced. The team have suffered a lot of injuries recently and he's had to patch up the squad with youth players. But signs of progress are there and given another month or two, I think we'll do better. As for competing in this league because of our excellent support: football moves fast and we're being left behind in infrastructure compared to teams in this league and lower. For example, Fylde are currently advertising for a sporting director to create a 5 year plan, their football DNA and to recruit, nurture & develop players. Hereford FC have a team of 12 performance analysts. Peterborough Sports have 9 first team football staff, a sports scientist etc. Even Airbus FC have performance analysts for their academy teams. We have 3 first-team football staff (and a kit manager) who perform multiple roles and although very capable, are clearly pressed for time and resources. Of course, player recruitment (and budget) is hugely important but I'd posit that other teams with lower budgets in this league make the most of what they have through better designed infrastructure. This feeds into performance and league position. My hope is that we build this out in future, as per Grenville's visit to Southampton several years ago, with a view to creating our football DNA. Still, lots of encouraging signs for the club on and off the field though. Onwards and upwards.

Still, lots of encouraging signs for the club on and off the field though. Onwards and upwards. Few problems we’d run into with the teams listed; Fylde - owned by a crack pot millionaire Hereford - say they’re fan owned but local wealthy businessman pump money in. Peterborough Sports - owned by local businessman. Airbus - goes without saying where their money comes from. Southampton- owned by a consortium of billionaires with a catchment of area of 280,000 in the city alone. Chester FC - fan owned, volunteer dependant. 4 massive Premier League clubs within 45 minutes. Let’s not look at replicating what others do and focus on what we can do with our unique set up. Our 3 main drivers should be; I) increasing home attendances and matchday experience ( we’re doing this ) II) developing a youth and transfer strategy to sell a 150k product every 3 years ( Burke next year, then say Hall and Coates) III) Have a hierarchy and set up ready for the national league - again we’re on our way. General Manager, full time model, KGV.

iv) continue to develop a scouting and recruitment policy to identify the best , young talent, in the lower leagues, with sell on value. Also, Harrison Burke is worth much more than £150k.

Just my humble opinion but think with the current players we have available we'd be better in a 5-3-2, as we currently set up our forwards are miles away from each other. Get Hall and Willoughby closer together with wing backs bombing on. Tyrer Burke Kenyon Williams Coates Coulton Devine Weeks Lynch Hall Willoughby Been saying the same all season, the squad we have is more suited to 5-3-2 but it does take Stephenson and Thomas out. I know Stevo has played wing-back and up front on occasion though.

If 'match day experience's' means that bloody awful racket in the Blues Bar then I'm afraid I will find somewhere quieter for my pre match drink and arrive later to go straight into the ground. I like to be able to discuss the up coming match with my mates. If I want that noise I'll go to a disco instead of the match.

Get Hall and Willoughby closer together with wing backs bombing on. Tyrer Burke Kenyon Williams Coates Coulton Devine Weeks Lynch Hall Willoughby Noticed Calum on Saturday telling Hall and Willoughby to be further apart. Then prior to the game you see the players warming up doing passing to each other with different colour vests on while no more than a metre from each other. Always thought front two should be very close together so they can pass to each other. They can't do that when so far apart because opposition defence can read those passes. To my mind Dudley is the best player we have who can do a quick flick on. I would like to see Dudley and Willoughby as the front two either side of Hall with Weeks feeding them. Coates can be attacking full back to give width.

Tyrer Burke Kenyon Williams Coates Coulton Devine Weeks Lynch Hall Willoughby I'd agree, our squad is a bit disjointed but I do think a system like this would get the best out fo Willoughby and Hall, Stevo looks decent enough through the centre too. But where this would leave the likes of Thomas, Murray and Dudley I don't know. Watching te highlights from Saturday there was 2/3 chances that on another day we'd bury at least one, and their goal was an absolute fluke. Happy to write it off as one of those days but I do think that like I say, it feels like round round pegs in square holes at times. We're still hard to score against which has to be the postive going into the Oldham game

The 5-3-2 and the 4-2-1-3 are both systems that set you up to be defensively solid. I tend to prefer the former, but is it the best fit for us? The 5-3-2 relies on the fullbacks to push on and give you the width, otherwise it becomes a flat back 5. The 3 central defenders never get seperated. The midfeld 3 need to work as a unit to cut off the passing angles, as the system is suscepible to balls played over the top or into the channels to the side of the left and right centre back, especially on the counter attack, when the full backs have pushed up. The 4-2-1-3, is a modern, flexible system, with the double pivot of 2 defensive midfield players, it originated from the Dutch Academies. It can easily transform into a 4-5-1, when defending and a 4-3-3 , when attacking. I would prefer to fine tune, the second system. I think the main problem is we lack , a little quality in the final third. I would get Hall more central to give the attack a focal point and for WIlloughby to run the right hand channel with Stephenson or Thomas, on the left. Weeks needs to provide the creativity and play, in the hole. He needs to be in the fina third creating chances. He is excellent at taking the ball on the half turn and running at players. Its just our link up play around the box, needs to improve. How can this be done? Via your strikers , going short or long and working effectively together to create space, by the midfield players making third man or 'blind side runs', into the box. By players taking the ball on the half turn and spinning, into space. Full backs or strikers getting to the byline. Overlapping runs.etc. I just think the present system needs tweeking and all the above are coachable.

Comments show lack of football knowledge. Players taken off needed to be managed just back from injury. Not sure why so many negatives. Best defensive display for 3 years. Darlo good team and likely to challenge for championship. Not at our best but nothing between the two teams. Ref probably suited them. Our manager showed passion and so did most of the players. Lots of moaning why we didn’t lump balls into the box, we would never win headers against that defence. Finally, we are short upfront of a big tall striker change. Weeks was brilliant and will get better. Keep the faith and in Calum we trust. Patronising response and totally missing the point. Very clear that the reference is in respect of the two players brought on, not the players taken off. Arthuro is of the opinion that Dudley and Lynch are Evo Stik standard. Patronising- that’s a big word.
