Evening all.. The Oldham fixture on the Box Office has just been taken down temporarily as we need to make some amendments to it. (...and it's not just a much-needed beer break!) Jeff What is the ground capacity these days Jeff?

Oldham now got only half of the West Stand plus the South Stand. Home fans get the other half of the West.

We should have had the South stand but either way it should be a good crowd and great atmosphere

Whether they sell them or not. They are entitled to 15% but don’t have to take them. Both Aston Villa at Utd and Norwich at Liverpool took the normal league allocation in last seasons FA Cup, with the rest they were entitled to going to home fans.

It says Oldham have until 12 tomorrow to get their tickets, so I think what they don’t sell will be then put on sale for us.

Police told the club we couldn't put home fans in the South Stand apparently.

Weird move - surely separating the away fans by giving them a full stand would have made more sense than segregating the west.

Unless they move all Oldham fans to the south and open the West up to us. Won't happen, there's no disabled facilities in there, that's the reason it didn't happen in the first place. Away fans must have a section of the West Stand.

There's no disabled facilities in the South, so if we were only putting the away fans in one stand it would have had to have been in the West and home fans in the South. Police would be thinking if there were to be any trouble Oldham fans would be effectively penned in behind the West Stand, with home fans in the North and South.

I'd have thought they could give us 2/3rds of the South Stand. Should be able to keep everyone a good distance apart. Extra sales would pay for the extra costs.

I think it's pretty much what Blockhead said, that would trap the away fans behind a wall of Chester fans and it would restrict the Police in how they can deploy officers between the two sets of fans outside the stadium.

Mad how this game, which was never (and still isn’t) officially all-ticket, ended up becoming unofficially all-ticket and sold out.
Feel sorry for some of our old-timer fans who still rely on the Evening Leader for all of their club news when they rock up tomorrow night and are turned away at the gate.

You'd be really p####d off as a genuine supporter, if you miss out due to the once a blue moon fan. Feel really sorry for any genuine fan who misses out. Expect there will be a few.

So what's the point in having an agreed capacity, if you can't use a whole stand because police need space to deploy officers? Genuine question. We've been in worse situated away stands than half of the West stand.

The SAG as ever seems a mysterious none public entity with no published minutes and no avenue to scrutiny. If the West Stand is split and the south stand is empty we are back in a situation with a SAG whose risk aversion surpasses every other club in the country.

4000 tickets sold in total with 3400 Chester.
600 from Oldham with just a couple of days' notice and no official club transport is quite good going.

3400 Chester fans ?? Surely more if it's a sell out? Stand capacity Harry Mc Terrace 1296 Main stand 2000 400 seats in West stand = 3696 chester fans. I hope we haven't got black netting covering a third of the main stand like we have in the past. Overkill

We know what Cheshire Police are like though, it annoys me how they treat us compared to Crewe and Macc, seen vids of scraps going on during games inside Moss Rose since they reformed but they still don't do anything to them.
Back to us though, if you put Chester fans in the South Stand then we surround the away fans outside the Stadium and have them trapped in the small area behind the West Stand and corner with the South. My guess is that Police will allow it for low risk games against small sides but won't for high risk ones as it could be a logistical nightmare for them.

Oldham's fans won't do anything, just like on Saturday even if they do bring a few hundred.

Looks like Latics have got South and half of the west - this is mainly because no disabled seats in the south. I’m guessing that if we had disabled provision in the south then we could have had all of the west.

Jeff Banks - 'We've got the go ahead for a couple of hundred in there for the visitors, hence why decision made to have 400 in the West towards the HMT'
