What a last few days it's been for us all. Never been so proud of us, players, management team & fans coming together & giving us some great moments this past week that I don't think any of us will forget in a hurry. On & off the pitch the way this club handles itself is simply incredible & I have so much love for our great club.
Back to league action tomorrow & obviously we're winning. We're due a big win & if we play half as well as we did against Oldham we still batter them.
Chester 4 - Kettering 0 Willoughby 2, Hall & Weeks.
Come on Chester.

Expect we may see a few changes to the side tomorrow after two big energy-sapping games last week.

Did anyone else get the Barnsley-esque promotional email about this fixture?
"Remember, Chester FC is for life, not just for FA Cup Qualifiers!"
Great stuff.

Quietly confident about this one. Think a few players may be tired after the Oldham matches, but what better way to put it behind them than to get back on the pitch again and put somebody to the sword. I'm going for a comfortable 4-1, with 1950 there to witness it.
Chatting to a Darlington fan in work yesterday and his lad's told him he'll be out on Saturday afternoon, as after watching from the away end a couple of weeks ago and in the home end on Tuesday, he's become hooked by the promise of live football every week or so and it's a long way to Darlington. 15 years old and he's adopting Chester as his second team (other than two games a season). Let's hope there are a fair few others that got caught up in the cup shenanigans and my crowd prediction is way off.

2-0 Chester Dudley & Lynch att 1901 Dudley to score brave statement They're always good when he does though. 2-1, 2065 attendance Willoughby and Williams to score. Williams does brilliantly to get more than his fair share of chances and this weekend he'll find the target.

Due a good win. Play like the last two games and we’ll get it.
Chester 3-0 Kettering. A few injury/fitness concerns I’m sure but beyond doubt now whatever 11 is out there they’ll be giving everything. Stephenson, Williams and Lynch with the goals.
1,978 with 62 away

I presume Kettering have their usual physical style of play again this season. They're only 1 point behind us, and have won 2 of their last 3 games in Kings Lynn and Spennymoor at home. It might not be pretty at times tomorrow.
Hopefully we'll have a fit and firing squad of players available. 2-0 Willoughby and Hall, in front of a disappointing crowd of 1640.

Looking forward to today's game. Them flags were amazing tuesday night, will they all be deployed today including the new ones? Got a buzz at the moment, clubs doing great with the fanzone and amenities and the cestrians 1885 doing great with the atmosphere COYB. Important we capitalise on these two home games as we need to push on now.

Feels like a big fortnight coming up. Five games that are all winnable, particularly the three at home. In the past I’d have feared a cup hangover after what happened on Tuesday, but with this group I believe the experience will be used positively and lead to a good sequence of results.
Fancy us to win 3-1 and to score a first half goal at home for the first time since Brackley in August I think (unless you count Kev scoring in the first period of extra time the other night).

What a seven days it has been for us, but back to the league now.
Chester last 5 games: DDLWD (Most recent on the left)
Kettering last 5 games: WLLWL (Most recent on the left)
Important to note that them games do include FA Cup games
Chester last 5 games: GF - 7, GA - 4, GD - +3
Kettering last 5 games: GF - 4, GA - 15, GD - -11
Chester home form this season: DLDWWDLLW
Kettering away form this season: LLWLDDLL
Kettering beat Spennymoor Town 2-1 in the most game, but that was preceded by a 5-0 and 6-1 away losses. Chester drew 2-2 with NL side Oldham and 1-1 in the original fixture, but did get beat 1-0 by Darlington.
We've been scoring just over a goal a game whilst managing to concede under a goal game, whilst Kettering are conceding an average of 3 goals are game, and scoring just under one a game.
With our recent cup run, despite being knocked out we should be full of confidence after proving we can go toe to toe with teams in the higher division. Kettering whilst they won there last fixture, haven't had much luck on the road. I predict a Chester win.
After Tuesday's attendance of 3,600, we should hopefully being looking at a decent crowd with people who enjoyed there experience last time around.
3-0 Willoughby x2, Weeks x1 2,200 (50 Away)

2 - 1 Chester. Centre back and Kurt with the goals. Still hurting from Tuesday night so a win would be great.

It’s setting the bar quite low, but I’d hope that the combined attendance for these two games coming up will at the very least be higher than what we had for the Oldham replay. Both visiting teams will bring minuscule away followings and it also has to be remembered that it’s more expensive to get in for these games than it was against Oldham.
If we can get something in the region of 4,000 through the gate in total from today and Tuesday then that would represent progress from normal league matches against unattractive opposition. If it’s more than that then that would be brilliant. Just hope we don’t get a crowd of something like 1,500 today, which really would feel deflating after the buzz of the last week.

It’s really time to seize the moment and kick start our season.
I fancy us to do that, 3-0 in front of 1675.

1-0, proper scrappy affair with a Weeks goal.
Going to be hopeful and say 2,100 with a few of the extra cup fans tagging along.
We really, really need 4/6 points from the next 2 home games. Great set of fixtures to kick on now.
