Well played the lads, hopefully Dudley is full of confidence and can kick on now!
As for the fair weather fans, fuck 'em. Some of them haven't been since we got relegated in 2000.

Thank f**k for that penalty, I had a cheeky bet on Chester winning 3-0 and cashed out early as we were so dominant in that second half.

I’m starting to realise that Dudley is the sort of player that stands out when the opposition tire. He was woeful first half at Oldham, but second half he really pulled the strings and IIRC it was him pressing the keeper that led to the corner that we scored from.
Hopefully those goals today give him confidence, but also maybe just building up his match fitness. But late on in games when he has more space he does look quality more often than not. Chuffed for him and the lads today, pretty much the same XI that played both Oldham games, it’s some effort that.
Not that bothered on the attendance, people need to realise three games in a week is actually a lot for most people - not just financially but in terms of other commitments. And as another poster has said, we were on the wrong side of 1500 most games last season. COYB

1834 how many Kettering in that? I counted 43 during the quiet part of the first half (about 45 minutes)

2 Chester sides today. First half our build up play was too slow, we were too narrow and the midfield too conjested. Second half we upped the tempo, found the pockets of space and caused them, problems with every attack. Both Dudley and Weeks frustrate me ar times. Dudley as he can drift in and out of games, but has the ability to find the space and link up the play,, as he did second half. Just hope he grows in confidence and does it more often. Weeks, I also find frustrating at times, because he is far and away the most creative player, on the books and really doesnt need to be dropping off and picking the ball up in his own half. Weeks needs to be playig in the opposition half , where he can take the ball on the half turn, run at defenders and create. Defensively , were were really solid . Williams is improving every week. Good games from Coulter and Coates and Hall and Willoughby up front. MOM for me was Kevin Roberts, who really is turning back te years.

What a last few days it's been for us all. Never been so proud of us, players, management team & fans coming together & giving us some great moments this past week that I don't think any of us will forget in a hurry. On & off the pitch the way this club handles itself is simply incredible & I have so much love for our great club. Back to league action tomorrow & obviously we're winning. We're due a big win & if we play half as well as we did against Oldham we still batter them. Chester 4 - Kettering 0Willoughby 2, Hall & Weeks. Come on Chester. My scoreline was spot on. Knew it was only a matter of time before we battered someone. Hugely disappointed we couldn't even manage over 2000 though, what are the 1200 or so fans from the other night doing on a Saturday that's more important?? Delighted Dudley scored today, been a critic of him so hopefully he can push on now.

Won't see an easier win all season.
Dominated the ball throughout the 90, bit slower first half but found another gear 2nd half and the result was never in doubt once Duds found the net with that header.
Kettering offered nothing at all. Very poor, were happy to sit all 10 men in their own half.
We were very clever with our play, patient and was great to see us reap the rewards for that 2nd half.
Made up for Dudley with his brace. Unlucky not to get a hat trick too.
Burke and Thomas in contention for Tuesday night, feels like things are clicking into place now

Pleased for Dudley, he needed those goals and you could see the confidence flowing through him after them. Hopefully he can kick on now.
He hadn’t scored for 10 months since Telford last Boxing Day and hadn’t from open play for 13 months.

First half was a non event. We passed sideways and backwards against 11man defence. Kettering were poor but you can only beat what’s in front of you. Second half we moved the ball a bit quicker. , Kettles seemed to run out of steam (see what I did there) and more spaces appeared. Roberts Williams Coates Weeks the top men for me. Still have a habit of trying to walk it in instead of shooting earlier. Ended up like a practice match and the lads probably grateful for a breather after Tuesday.
